This time I am replying late - and to such a message... Oh, I cannot express how sorry I am.

Well, one of my weaknesses is that I am susceptible to flattery - and I really was and am flattered by your words. Don't get me wrong, of course - I am not implying that you just said what you said for the sake of winning my favour or with some other ulterior motive. No, far from it. I respect your honest opinion, and I am very grateful that you think highly of my writing skills.

Though I myself am of a different opinion - I try not to re-read any of my reviews in order not to get upset about the poor quality of composition, structure, conveying of the thoughts and the abysmal impoverished language. And Usagi Drop review is a prime example of the above-mentioned flaws - it is not well thought-out, lacks deep insight in the nature of the work being reviewed, and written without any spark - just plain boring. And as the years go by, I can't say that there was a significant improvement.

But I guess I am just too harsh on myself - and I am glad that my review was of help and to your liking. I appreciate the positive feedback greatly.

As for the comparison of the old and new animes, I don't want to sound like some old geezer who says that in the days of yore everything was better - but somehow I tend to think that the old anime really was better. Although I have no proof to that statement, since there are no general criteria for "better" or "worse" - it is all very subjective - and anyway, most animes are manga adaptations, so their quality depends on the state of manga market, too - but it seems new anime is going for cliches a bit too much. Most of them are cookie-cutter - all aimed for a particular niche, done with the same formula, feature many similarities etc. Can't say that is a bad thing - and many people like it. And really, no need to get pessimistic - I am sure that the river of time will definitely sweep away all the second-rate titles from the current time, and leaves us with some very good ones to watch. That is why I prefer to wait. Maybe that is wrong, but that is the way for me now.

Again I let my logorrhea run wild and put succintness on the sacrificial altar. That happens too often with me, I am afraid. To finish, though - I can't classify your English as "poor and shallow", on the contrary, it is both direct and rich, and truth be told, I don't think that you have to learn anything from me, but I am glad that I supplied some vocabulary - it was the least I could do.

No need to thank me, as I hardly did anything - but your gratitude means a lot. And thank you, too, for taking time reading my messages and reviews and even finding something helpful in them. That means a lot.

No need to be sorry - it is completely alright.

As for the Tokyo Ghoul and other mangas and animes, I regret to tell that I am not familiar with them - I haven't watched or read anything for a while, especially anything new. Right now, I am more interested in something vintage - but I am really grateful for the titles that you mentioned(heard many good things about Barakamon manga, but others were completely new), I will be keeping them in mind.

So thank you for your reply, and I am sorry for my inadequate knowledge of respective series. Need to watch and read more!

Then, I believe, it is right to stop after 24 chapters - you have made a wise decision.

And I am really glad that these manga and anime resonated with your heart and soul to such an extent - it is a really rewarding experience when one encounters such a work.

And yes, I tried to make both the review and my answers not spoilerish - I am glad that I succeeded, though, honestly, I think I could have done a better job, I think my hints are very revealing. But maybe it just comes from my knowing what happened...

And good horror reading to you! This is going to be a spoiler, but... The second part of Usagi Drop doesn't feature ghouls! So really, no need to read it...

welcome baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack !

Well, I certainly am glad that I was of help, and I think you have made a right decision - Usagi Drop shouldn't have continued after chapter 24, or at least continued the way it did, but alas... Such was author's will.

And yes, anime is very good and one of its beneficial points is that it doesn't continue! Though one can never know - a sequel may appear when one least expects...But I doubt the possibility of it.

And if you ever feel like reading the rest, don't hesitate to change your mind - as I have said, it is a different experience, and I may have been undeservedly harsh on the second part, so feel free to give it a try and don't feel restricted just because of my opinion - I am not a good reviewer anyway.

Really glad you liked the anime and the manga's first 24 chapters. And once again - I may be wrong, so it is your choice, and whatever choice it is, I understand and respect it.

Thank you very much for your kind and affectionate words regarding my review and my apologies for not noticing the message on my wall earlier.

As for whether you should continue reading Usagi Drop - and I hope I am not intruding while answering that - it heavily depends on what your opinion of the first part of the manga is and what your expectations of its continuation are. Of course, it is an entirely subjective matter, and I encountered people who said that the second arc is natural, well-implemented, enjoyable etc. - and I cannnot vouch that you won't be one of such people, but...

The truth is - that is, my vision of truth, which was mirrored in the review accordingly - the second part is weak, not well-prepared, done without much careful planning, and doesn't resemble the pre-chapter 24 arc at all, except for the recognizable drawing style.

So, the question should go like this, rather - what do I expect from the second part? If it is the warmth, the cuteness, the natural flow of narrative of the first part - there will be none. If I do expect something completely different - that is, characters being shadows of their former selves, acting with unclear motivation and storylines being vague - there will be a lot of it.

However, all that doesn't matter if you are a completionist and just want to see the ending... In that case, one should read it to the bitter or not so bitter end - still, there may be some redeeming qualities. And of course, it may be that you like the second part, so...

I am very sorry about my vague answer, which I am afraid wasn't helpful at all. And I am sorry if I shouldn't have answered and just accepted your words of gratitude with a silent approval.

I know I didn't say anything new which wasn't already in the review - it is just the manga didn't inspire any new thoughts in me since the moment of writing it.

All in all, it is your choice whether to continue. But I think that the second part offers nothing that made the first part good - so be warned... And choose "to read or not to read" yourself - that is, indeed, the question which we often ponder in our manga activities...

I apologize for this wall of text - verbose and not helpful. But maybe it will help one part of you prevail over the other - and the decision will be made - who knows?
