I know, users in MAL are complex so you don't know which is which, I prefer to have my own circle rather than being here. Forums in MAL for instance, where anime talks are happening in this instance, and other clubs, that have their own thing. Users there can be either or neither have their own opinion or just being swayed, we don't have a clue yet we can theorize but still can't find the right answer. Well all I can say is, dude just go with the flow as what others say.

If you ride the wind, the wind will take you the the place either you like or don't like. That's what MAL is all about, at least in my way of thinking.

Not everyone are easily swayed, we need to take look at other points too, sometimes people just have the same idea but different reasoning, and sometimes people have different idea and different reasoning. Others can be influenced by other's idea not necessarily swayed from their own perspective. And others are just those who can be easily swayed.
I don't think that's a bad thing, being swayed from other's idea as long as you know it is also what you believe and you know that it is also part of your idea. But being swayed without knowing the circustances or what's going on, is just utterly despicable to me. Sometimes it can be also offensive to those who knows that they're just following the river's current.

So that's what you mean. At first I look at the anime's genres because its the first thing that will tell me the boundaries of the anime I want to watch, but when I watch anime I decide if its good/bad/great into 5 categories: Story(including theme), Characterization, Animation(I don't really judge animes base on the graphical scenes, but it is still an essence needed), lastly is sound. That's basically the generalize form, though I don't write reviews.
Well people have their own ways of how to decide whether the anime is good or bad. I don't generally care how others do it, but BS explanation that decides if the anime is bad, just pisses me.
Taz_ Feb 7, 2016 11:01 AM
Trust me, you aren't alone.
_Ako_ Feb 7, 2016 7:38 AM
I guess this world is just too vast to make generalization of what's the "right" thing and the "wrong" thing, getting into shounen at the age of 18 without knowing the "flaws" or the "pattern" in Shounen is just BS to me; a little unbelievable.
I don't get what you said in the last sentence... Please expand it more or clarify it a little bit.

Oh boy, prepare for the OPM fanboys xD

Dude, don't get me wrong, I liked the mystery in The Perfect Insider, the story is intriguing and one of a kind, it is one of the anime that you'll just watch 'til the end. My theories in The Perfect Insider were great expect when they focused on The Red Magic that connects to the Murder, I frankly don't quite understand it, but the whole point of the story is good. My point is, people have different opinions of how they view things in their environment. One might believe that walking is better than riding a car, and the vice versa. Frankly it is quite a little disappointing on how you said that people just hit 10/10 when they like it, that's the most unjustified thing to do, also I think assigning a negative score can also be
unjustified. For example, I don't quite frankly know the percentage of those who like SAO and those who didn't, but I can tell that that person is probably just being a jerk because he/she rated SAO 10/10 despite of the flaws in the story. And I can tell that a person is also being a jerk
if he rated SAO 1/10, because he/she is just exaggerating the flaws of the anime.
I think it just really depends on the genre of the anime. Shounen and Seinen have so many distinct differences and the in-depth theme. It is hard to compare The Perfect Insider and OPM because those two are like water and fire, totally opposite of each other.
I don't have a proof but I think a majority of people that liked OPM is generally at the age of 10, since Shounen can "manipulate" the brains of kids, unlike kids who watches The Perfect Insider, they might have a hard time telling what's going on due to the fact that the depth of the anime
are too far to them.
I know what it feels when the anime you like was overshadowed by an "childish" anime, I frankly don't quite get why those user rated The Perfect insider 1/10, its not like the story was all jumbled around and there's no alien that just poped up in the plot, or the MC asked Detective Conan to solve the murder case, or when the plot turned into a rom-com and Hikigaya and Yukino just magically showed up. But part of me believe that those users who rated The Perfect Insider 1/10, just really don't appreciate the beauty of the anime, or they just rated it 1/10 to make their mean score low.
Either way, it really sucks that OPM and The Perfect Insider collided at the same time. I think it would be a good match if The Perfect Inside were to air this season, but it will be likely going to overshadowed by ERASED, nevertheless, if so, The Perfect Insider still have the change to arose since not everyone have watched The Perfect Insider. Just chill dude, I'm with you when you said that OPM was overshadowed The Perfect Inside, it is silly but that's just what makes it cruel.

Well said man... well said. :D

kurosmal Feb 6, 2016 2:22 AM
the anime? or the fans?
_Ako_ Feb 6, 2016 1:24 AM
Ok, I get it, so you rated OPM 1/10 because of the fact that most people like it? Does that mean your hatred towards OPM doesn't really apply to its content, rather to those who don't see what you see in OPM. I know that writing a review is something on your own view/belief/point-of-view, but isn't it obnoxious to write a review of something to show how utterly stupid the majority are?
I mean, hey I get what you're trying to say in your review in OPM, but I guess 1/10 is a little strong, from just those details you were easily swayed and rated it 1/10.
Lastly I like OPM, not because of the majority prefers the anime nor because I read you review. For me, OPM is just something you would watch in a times of when you're having a headache or a tough time, in case for me, worked because when I was watching OPM, final exams were on its way, and I felt a little relaxed watching something funny, yet exaggerated. But to me, those EP's were just really what happened to be the one who help me to calm.
I don't know how was your day when you were watching OPM, but to me, I just happened to me in the bad mood, and picked a good, yeah maybe a little flat, yet to me, a wonderful anime.
sgt_dicky Feb 6, 2016 12:55 AM
Even though we are the COMPLETE opposite regarding OPM.
Gotta respect you for being an Oregairu fan mate.
Avalynch Feb 6, 2016 12:18 AM
Also, you should watch Monster (See it in your PTW list, hopefully this makes you start it faster), and Ajin (It's CGI, but the story is awesome. It's currently airing).
_Ako_ Feb 5, 2016 10:47 PM
I read your review in OPM, and I gotta admit, you're not really the only one who noticed how "lame" it is, despite its flaw, it still deserve some credit on the humours.
On the other note, I don't get what you mean, you like Psychological anime, yet hate it? Or do you mean you hate Shounen due to the fact that it lacks Psychological theme and poorly pictures it?
Avalynch Feb 5, 2016 9:30 PM
Completely agree with your OPM review, though I gave it higher than a 1. For the art, soundtrack, and the original idea of having a flat protagonist (Even though it was done poorly).
Casualfield Feb 5, 2016 4:21 PM
I don't really like it. It's stupid boring and not funny at all. I don't see the appeal anywhere.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
