Hello direi! I also apologize for the late reply, actually right when I wanted to send you a reply two days ago then MAL crashed... so I'm really sorry. Anyway thanks for replying! :)

Ooo~ I hope it didn't disappoint you~ I'm honestly a bit scared when it comes to giving recommendations because, well, the way people judge things can be different even if they look at the same thing. I personally am (obviously) a big fan of romance and maybe because of that I'm usually much more critical and pay a lot of attention to that genre. Sometimes even with my friends (who are also quite into romance), we can be very far apart in our judgments even if we watch the same shows, usually it will start with one of us not liking a show that the other one likes... I know that's normal though, I might just be a little sad lol but that's okay! Whenever you try reading Hananoi and feel like that kind of romance doesn't suit you, please let me know~ ;)

Speaking of Haikyuu, I actually felt that the third season was indeed boring lol. It kind of surprised me because the first and second seasons were so much fun, especially the second season! I really loved the second season, it was memorable and it was the one that made me feel like going back to high school. I didn't read the manga so I don't know which content will be adapted to the next season, but since it's a movie so I guess you can watch the fourth season and the movie anytime ;D

OOOOHH! XXXHOLIC! It's been a while since I heard someone mention that. Glad you liked it too ♡ I watched it because many people said it was similar to Natsume Yuujinchou, so I watched it. It was good, I liked it, but it was... not that similar to Natsume Yuujinchou. Maybe there were some similarities but the overall atmosphere of the anime and how I, as a viewer, felt the atmosphere and feelings they gave me was different, at least for me.. but yeah it was good. If you haven't watched Natsume then to be honest I don't really recommend you to watch that lol, not because I want to keep what I like to myself but I think maybe you wouldn't really like that type of anime...? Especially since it's also an episodic story... uhhh but please give it a try if you're curious.... and yeah, I'll watch the movie sometime.

Hahah! I smiled when I read your response about Monogatari. It's really full of excitement and really shows that you admire it as a whole (both the author and the works). I love when someone excitedly tells me what they like even if I'm not too familiar with what they're saying, seeing them makes me happy. I will definitely watch Monogatari someday, because, yup... what you said is true. "Either you love it or hate it." There's no in-between. I forget when and who but there was someone who said the same thing in a forum. "If you're not a fan then you're definitely a hater" lol xD I wonder why.

Ahaha, I'll tell him that someone praised his Hanekawa. Do you like her too?

By the way, the only Nisio Isin work I've seen is Bishounen Tanteidan. I don't know if it was adapted well or not, but from the anime alone, I think I can get a slight sense that the way he sees, judges, explains and breaks things down is unique. It's not that I understand his thoughts, it's just that it blatantly shows anyone who sees it that he is indeed unique. It's interesting to see one that is different from the others.

Oh no, no. You don't need to apologize because I honestly didn't think anyone would read everything I wrote on my profile. I'm honored and I'm happy, thank you for reading :)

Hahah Monogatari Series! There's someone I know who keeps telling me to watch Monogatari. He's a huge fan and his favorite character is Hanekawa (the girl with glasses), even two days ago he still asked me if I've watched it? Lol. Asking this to you who is a fan might feel biased but I wanted to ask, what makes you like it so much?

Oh my, you picked the right inspiration, direi-san. Keep following me, okay? :p *wink*

Oooo, Hananoi-kun. I think the pace does tend to be slow, but it's actually not that slow. I also felt that it might continue to be slow until the next chapters so I stopped at chapter 9/10 (I kinda forgot). Then I tried reading it again and ohhh~ without realizing it I just kept reading, hahahah. What I like is that they act like high schoolers normally would act. It's not a romcom so I didn't expect a comedy either, I enjoyed the romance and drama. I also like that the characters don't change quickly, but they want to change so they keep trying and there are failures or mistakes... it's natural right, humans can't change in an instant and it will always be followed by mistakes and failures.

Also because both characters are still learning to understand and change for the better, their feelings feel very genuine and tender to me. I like something that can touch my heart gently :)

I don't know if you'll enjoy it or not, but if you like something fast-paced with characters who already know what they're going to do, I think this might not be the right love story for you. Hey but I guess there's nothing wrong with trying something different once in a while, right? Please let me know if you want to try to continue reading it.

Hahaha, I didn't think anyone would read the little note on my list. I originally just wrote the note for fun because I thought my manga list was dominated by BL and people wouldn't be interested in knowing more about it. Thanks for reading :) hope you enjoy what you find through my list~

Hahahah hey, what is this? I feel like I'm being interrogated lol. I've been watching anime since 2020, I only made a MAL account in 2021 because I thought you had to pay to make an account, but apparently not. (⁄ ⁄•⁄▽⁄•⁄ ⁄) *embarrassed*

I think the reason why I have that many completed anime is because I watch a lot of short anime and movies. The first year I became an anime fan, I really watched anime like crazy hahah, especially when all the activities had to be done from home, it gave me so much time. This might be unbelievable to you, but I finished all 4 seasons of Haikyuu in just 4-5 days :"D I didn't even think I could watch that many episodes in a short period of time, but I did. Of course I picked a day close to the weekend so that I could spend time freely watching it. I think when I really enjoy an anime, then there will always be time I set aside to watch it. („• ᴗ •„)✧

Watching something weekly can also work... I usually have a few titles that I want to watch each season and I have my own list to choose what anime and how many I want to watch per day.

As for manga, believe me my manga list is actually very unorganized. As I'm writing this, I just realized that I have a lot of manga that I put on my reading list (can you believe I read 99 titles? No way right... that's too awesome to be true..) but I just put it there just so I know that I have it, but I probably just read the first chapter and forgot about it lol. I really should tidy up my manga list but I'm too lazy so I just leave it like that ╮(︶▽︶)╭ unless I really enjoy the manga then I following the updates (if it's still on-going) or completed it quickly (if it's finished).

Edit: I'm sorry didn't know my reply was very long :"D

I see, you summed it up short but nicely. I'm always open to recommendations especially romance, it intrigues me and I'll try to read it.

I haven't finished reading Dengeki Daisy yet, but I still remember that it had a fun storyline and the FL was very likable. As much as I love shoujo stories, I sometimes get so annoyed with the FL, but I still remember well that the FL in Dengeki Daisy had a charming personality. I also hope that one day either Dengeki or QQ can get an anime adaptation, it would be nice if we can get another great shoujo story adaptation ;)

Ah... Virgin Soul. I was so excited to watch the second season because Genesis was so fun and wild. But after seeing some reviews and hearing some opinions, I just didn't feel that interested. I tried watching some clips and spoilers and yup, I didn't feel as eager to watch it as I did when I watched Genesis before. How about you?

Ahh, Lili! Yes, it would be really nice to see Lili and Yona in action, but it's unlikely because if I remember correctly, Sensei once said that she has no intention of doing a second season. Well, though, if the world is kind enough, who knows if Yona will get the same treatment as Fruits Basket in the next few years? ;'D let's hope for the best. What made you make Lili as your favorite?

Oh! QQ Sweeper manga, it's made by the same mangaka as Dengeki Daisy. Did you find it interesting?

I haven't continued reading Yona either, lately I've been reading more light-hearted stuff, or shorter... or more of a slice of life.. or some sweet stuffs to balance my life (eh what). Maybe I'll get back to reading it again at the right time lol.

Also thanks for the friend request! Nice to meet you :)

Hello direi, thanks for liking my profile :) the girl next to Yona is Amira from Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis. I recommend the anime, it's fun ;)

For Yona, I honestly liked both equally. The reason why I gave the manga a higher score is purely because what I was looking for and looking forward to was in the manga, so the excitement was there. Other than that, maybe this isn't too important but the comedic side was also funnier in the manga. Also, why I gave the anime a 8 is because I was so annoyed that they stopped it JUST as the story was getting exciting. A score of 8, according to MAL, is identified as "really good" and I think it fits the anime. The content adapted into the anime was really good, but not "really good" enough to get a score of 9 or 10 especially with an ending like that. In my opinion, a 9 & 10 should be reserved for something that is able to satisfy you (almost) in all areas. I mean, Yona's content in the beginning of the manga was fun, but when compared to the amount of content that wasn't adapted... then the content that the anime adapted looks like a 8 to me.

I also watched the anime first and then decided to read the manga, in my personal opinion, the Yona anime was actually adapted well enough that it made me who was not interested in reading manga at first ended up enjoying reading manga... but then again, I know not everyone is like me (deciding to read a manga after watching an anime) so I think it's quite unfortunate that they choose to stop there, and with the quality of the manga as great as it is, maybe... maybe, with 24 episodes they should be able to work out how to make the anime not cut off there.

But, yeah, I guess the only real significant difference is the feeling. I got what I expected and wanted so I felt "satisfied", so I gave a higher score. I enjoyed the anime but it also gave me a feeling of "what?" so I gave it a lower score.

I apologize if my explanation is convoluted, but I hope you can understand what I mean :)

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it.

For 3-gatsu, there were a lot of things I liked: shaft’s visuals, the way shogi was integrated into the story (every match was far more than just watching two guys playing a chess-like alternative while I sat there completely lost) because even for a game I didn’t understand, they still made the implications clear, and showed what it meant if they won or lost and everything in between. They also explained how to play shogi pretty well (well, for an anime that isn’t gonna spend episode upon episode being a free guide) and still touched on the basics.

I liked following Rei in his daily life, and something I found was that I was never bored. Everything from Kyouko, to shogi, to the Kawamoto sisters was all enjoyable to watch. The side characters (who played shogi) were unique and expanded upon, which doesn’t always happen with side characters.

So I guess I did like the show, quite a bit, I just wish it resonated with me more personally, not to say I couldn’t relate to Rei’s struggles or anything, I just like shows that have a significant impact on me. I don’t have any criticisms either, not that I can remember at least.

Anything you wanna add?
