I thought the anime for Gantz was amazing. I mean sure, it deviated from the manga but hey guess what, the manga's ending sucks big time too so it really doesn't matter whether it deviates or not. I think the anime is alright as a stand alone and as a sort of. . . gateway for starting the manga. Anyways I don't think Btooom! ended properly either. . . but you still enjoyed it, didn't you? So I'm pretty sure you'll like Gantz. The premise for both are very similar~

Hunter x Hunter ehhh. . . I don't ever feel like getting into it. Around which episode does it pick up?

Ummm.. Well. At first, I have to say I haven't really watched the original anime completely, but I know all the basic themes and stuff. Soo, it's nothing to new to me, and the show itself isn't very special as well. The art and animation are very good, the colors are vivid and pleasing to look at. It has more of a shoujo style than the original one. The OST isn't as good as the original so far, but decent. Not too much has happened story-wise, but it looks like they're gonna establish the characters and story. It's entertaining, but nothing too special :D

Also I saw that you're watching Fairy Tail. I honestly can't sit through another episode of that, hence why I dropped it.
