The way I live my Life
(extract from a lecture by Alan Watts)
You do not know where your decisions come from. They pop up like hiccups. And when you make a decision, people have a great deal of anxiety about making decisions. "Did I think this over long enough? Did I take enough data into consideration?" And if you think it through, you'll find, you never could take enough data into consideration. The data, for a decision in any given situation, is infinite. So what you do is, you go through the motions, of thinking out what you would do about this. But 'worriers' are people, who think of all the variables beyond their control and what might happen.
You see, choice is the act of hesitation that we make before making a decision. It is a mental wobbling. And so we are always in a dither of doubt as to whether we are behaving the right way doing the right thing and so on and so forth, and lack a certain kind of self confidence. And if you see you lack self confidence, you will make mistakes through sheer fumbling. If you do have self confidence, you may carry a getaway with doing entirely the wrong thing.
You have to regard yourself as a cloud, in the flesh. Because, you see, clouds never make mistakes. Did you ever see a cloud that was misshapen? Did you ever see a badly designed wave? No, they always do the right thing. But if you will treat yourself, for a while, as a cloud or a wave and realise that you can't make a mistake whatever you do, because even if you do something that seems to be totally disastrous, it will all come out in the wash somehow or other. Then, through this capacity, you will develop a kind of confidence, and through confidence you will be able to trust your own intuition. But this is the middle way of knowing it has nothing to do with your decision to do this or not, whether you decide that you can't make a mistake or whether you don't decide, it is true anyway, that you are like cloud and water. And through that realisation, without overcompensating in the other direction, you will come to the point where you began to be on good terms with your own being and to able to trust your own brain.
The world is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go it,
you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round,
it has thrills and chills, it is very brightly coloured and it is very loud and it's fun for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, "Is this real? Or is this just a ride?"
And other people have remembered and they come back to us and they say,
"Hey! Don't worry. Don't be afraid. Because... this is just a ride."
P.S. Removing most of the reviews because I'm moving to my blog.
I just finished rereading my earliest comments on Mal and I just noticed that we're used to being quite closed in 2015
I also remember that you made one hella sick layout (Itachi theme) for me, and I truly want to say thanks!
I was a bit edgy and selfish at that time, so please forgive me for any rude manners at that time :(
All in one, I really hope you're fine and well during this difficult time :)
Hello fellow MAL member! :D
Are you a movie addict or maybe just a casual movie viewer? If films, animated or live-action ones are something you like, have you ever wondered about joining a club where you can discuss about your favorite movies with your friends on MAL?
If the above facts catch your interest, come and joinThe Cinema Club! ;)
I read through your Ore Monogatari!! review. When I got to the "updated section", I started laughing my ass off from the sudden dramatic shift in tone and agreement. I feel the same way. Liked it at the start; boring as it goes on.
Thanks for the laugh as I was very bored and just randomly looking at stuff. Very nice.
Oh i see, i think the dimensions for Ava is 100 x 125 and dimensions for DP is 225 x 350 :D
Is it possible for you to make me a layout? your design looks really awesome ^_^
Thanks- It was kind of a fun show for a little while, but the lack of a plot was kind of irritating in a show that set a goal at the beginning and then promptly forgot about it within 5 minuets. Not that I need constant reminders... but a nod, you know, once every 12 episodes? The show was just very mediocre, and I'm done with it.
Nah the Half Life 3 joke is Panty and Stocking... ffs, it even says "FIND OUT NEXT SEASON"
Someone else also just wrote a nice piece on Overlord a few hours ago. Apparently people capable of coherent thought are watching this series AND writing about it!
I tried writing about in progress shows a couple times, and I just always hated how the product came out- so I abstain, with the exception of Kekkai Sensen, which I have concluded will never finish until it comes out on physical media, so I wrote about it a couple weeks ago (and managed not to look like an idiot when i said the next episode wasn't coming out anytime soon hahaha)
Normally in-progress reviews are a giant waste of everyone's time, including the writer- but I've got to give it to you: your Overlord piece was right on the money. You covered the important points and why anyone would want to watch it without spoiling the little bit we've seen or fangirling out over why it's "the most awesomest thing ever". You get my +1
Brav!
