Moe camping is back

Yeah, it seems that people prefer photo realism and story centered games nowadays. Every game must have at least one of these for success.

I said one because Dark Souls games are brutally difficult and not really story oriented, but people still play them, and I think graphics is not negligible in this case. Much less people play Celeste, despite it being a difficult but fair game and even having a story. And that's probably because it's a 2D pixel art game.

You're probably right with the atmosphere, although I haven't played the originals in the cases I mentioned. My problem was that they felt too empty and too easy. AHIT is still totally doable* but it feels alive! It's better to use smaller maps with tightly packed content than a giant but dead map. My favorite is the Carnival act, I still return to it from time to time for the music.

By the way, I don't understand why everyone hates remastered soundtracks, like the remastered OST of Cave Story and the music of Mega Man 11. Yes, they are different, but this doesn't change their quality! I totally like both I mentioned, while liking the original or previous games too.

If you like Sonic games, Sonic Generations is brutally enjoyable despite the laughably weak story and unbearable boss fights. It has good levels (both 2D and 3D), good music (you can even swap them), and tons of enjoyable challenges, each with their own top 3 times recorded. And getting a new concept art or new soundtrack for every challenge completed is a great reward.

*The challenge roads however... I could never complete even one! Community maps are brutal! Even more so after seeing the original Nyakuza Metro and realizing how easy it is.

Hi! I also played AHIT! I tried a few 3D platformers on Steam (mostly remasters) but they really couldn't grab be, I found them bland. Unlike A Hat In Time!* I recently got the DLCs too, completed both except for the death wish challenges. I'll return for those later.

*And Sonic Generations. I don't like Sonic games, but that one is the definition of addictive. Except for the bosses. That game has one of the worst boss fights I've ever seen.
