Heya. I see you finally understand why Adam Smashes (RIP Rebecca): I shall henceforth replace your sirename with his, in my head.
10/10 a bit high for my burned out anime arsehole - mainly cuz budget constraints/CG cars made me lower my score, as after ep2 bar ep6 looked more ropey - but it was quite a ride: the rise of Dave and his angry leg tapping in first half, then his fall~ The mind-break psychosis ep6 was fantastic, with its PoV mental breakdown as that bulky guy with sunglasses lost his mind. Main cyberwaifu hot, also. Feel free type if not too late: always happy read.

This HEALTH track that was in the anime, and this mini-AMV I found, captures end/vibe re Dave: Major Crimes, yo

Before I do my usual tltrrambling, would like to apologise--I hadn't forgot about your msgs. When I last logged in Oct, intended to reply, then. Had at the time been trying finish Gantz, a decade or two after you, only to lose interest exact same point, and felt too down end of the year. Then when you sent a msg in Feb I was gonna either leave you a quickie msg, or simply reply. Instead, decided on April 1st as a lame joke... and here we are, 30+ days later~

Sorry: days seem go by faster and faster, older get, though I dunno if just me in my hamster loopdeloop. I actually thought I'd last msged you April 2023. Was Jan. I enter these... periods of depression where I shutdown/hibernate. Weeks turn into months, and with me no longer having a desk/PC (or a IT job), like I did when you were living at parents smoking weed with a local friend, end up mostly lurking around on an android tablet. And MAL? Bar you/few others, feel I should be put on some kind of register; interacting with brats.

I'll make a promise will hopefully keep: during House Ashes S2 next month(?), if you don't msg me first, will msg you about that. You're only person I got to talk to about stuff like GoT, Gantz, Chainsaw etc too, so I feel as you do. It cool: ramble away.

As Eren Jaeger once said, "ima keep moving forward". That's very much what you have done, re-reading x2 msgs back-to-back. By the time I'm messaging, you will likely have moved into your own home/own it, after years of dealing with unwanted step-bros in Belgium (don't blame you, how felt btw: I refused idea sharing home with people renting, fearing lack privacy.)
I recall you telling me your other half a doctor, and besides getting a bit self concious over her family/you understandably not liking living with so many people not your own family... she has a good head on her shoulders in terms long-term, by the read. Maybe you picked a good un. That 3 years of ugghhhh avoided you getting in the renting loop, or accepting less/debt. Though could've ruined your relationship, that strain. Good it didn't. Let me know how you feel about your new/own place, aside from the +1 privacy: the area nice/good value? Your next update you'll be telling me about Adam Smi jr cummin, and not in the porno sense. We're old. Though a manchild never ages, in my case. That's a positive.

Having a Japanese guy seriously bow/add -san to name must've been quite the experience. It'd weird me out, having seen so much anime. Like, on one hand you're at work/professional. Inner weeb would be finding it hilarious/cool. If was an irl femdom boss-lady I could refer to as -sama, all the more. Bowing tho: back during my younger reclusive years, I'd watched so much anime and gone out so little, unwittingly bowed head slightly saying sorry. Was awkward once realised, that.

I'd like to share in-turn, unfortuantely though I don't have much say: still living with my increasingly ill mother and a west highland terrier that hates me, have an e-friend typed to for last few.... decades, online. We 'hang out' daily for 2+hrs. I don't want you feeling I'm holding back whilst you sharing--just not enough worth saying as I gave up on whole life/girlfriend thing many-a-year ago. Happy the two e-friends I made got out.

CHAINSAW MAHN: I thought S1 hadn't sold well in Japan, given it more seinenXbatshit than Naruto. Turns out S1+Reze near enough where jumps/literally rides the shark. Maybe that why we only getting a Reze film vs S2. The piano track/mood of trailer swayed me, too.

Anime: how into eyepatch girl you were all but forcing herself on 'poor' Denji, and Makima's femdom seductive control, shows we are of one mind regarding that. Eyepatch drunk pouncing on more drunk Denji was deffo predatory (she made joke after, thank God didn't/ur underage), tho on first viewing I was more of the FUK YEA/wow they reanimated start ep mindset. Rewatched it before manga, and I was harsh on end anime katana man/train CG. Best looking/directed TV anime in decades. The animators spent days just animated toothpaste. That's special.

Manga: Felt v6/Reze was fantastic as a sort of single volume action extravaganza, and that end with Makima killing her hit home. v7-8 started to lose me as was introducing a bunch of new characters to predictably kill off, doll-zombies, then a trip to a hell for a quickie Gantz-esque showdown with Teh Darkness. Problem was, v6-8 had been all action, no downtime/smutty lulz like in anime, bar Power's driving antics with Kobeni. Got more and more batshit. BUT(T), then v9 came. First half re-focused on Aki + Denji/Power. No action, no insanity... until Aki got killed/possessed and book ended with hardest hitting shit so far. v10 with Denji broken liked... until Makima rando killed Power and lost plot completely with Denji roided up fighting/killing characters I thought already dead. Still no idea what Makima wanted, exactly, but guess a mute point as she now back revived as underage girl. She liked huskys/dogs, that much I did get.

So, ja: you can type freely/spoilers as I finishing pt1, don't think gonna do pt2 so tell meeee about that. Got impression it a sort of Jojo Bizarre Adventure sequel that has little do original, bar re-used characters. To me, felt like series done 'n dusted v11. Author burned through all his insanity/ideas similar to Oku/Gantz. Reminds me Death Note, which also ended v11. The twists felt bit anti-climatic (the door in dream) and Makima/Chainsaw devil power all a bit okden.

PS: New anime of shounen origin caught my jap's eye (looks like Chainsaw meets Heavenly Delusion duo/explore), mainly cause it named after me; similar to how CHAINSAW reminded me of Gears War (co-op shooter with chainsaw gun) so put it on my radar. Logic. Maybe worth trying Sept. DANDADAN

JuJu: MAPPA seems to take on many projects, and some get a shorter stick than, say, AoT which was pumped out asap after Wit abandoned ship (think read 2D Levi sequence alone took Wit 4months, Mappa did whole season in 11months, CG overload). Chainsaw and Juju share a lot in common/the OP visuals esp. Tried it on Crunchyroll after your msg. Think I did 6 or so eps. The action is enjoyable as you mentioned, and I liked the blindfolded Kakashi guy that leads the main trio. Couldn't help but draw some paraells when him arriving late/trio pissed a gag. Shounen love these 2guys+1 girl Team 7s. That aside, it was deffo better than stuff like HxH, yet it didn't have same... seinen/crazy eccentric edge as Chainsaw. That was a shounen for people that hate shounen as you said, where as JuJu lacks the pervy femdom insanity. Perhaps it's unfair compare them, tho went in hoping it'd be as good. Denji's lief goal being BOOBS and Power being lol selfish/needy... maybe S2 adds more depth, iuno, wasn't feeling Juju main trio in comparison. Will try continuing to S2 tho.

SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN (aka AoT): In your last-last msg, glad I misunderstood what you were saying re not hating final chapter--I'd thought you were dtf with how ended; you meant it was par for the course last 40chs of shite. I must admit there were a few 'HYPE' moments along way, like when he turned table on Reiner and told Mikasa he always hated her. He'd matured enuff not act like angry Naruto, and he never liked 'er, so it fit. Kinda?... him being this puppet master uber boss final villain though.... yeeeaaah. A complete mess, which left show as a whole a mess since he (was) the lead.
I remember that part in manga where Mikasa cut his head off, off-page, and then see her kissing his decapitated head. Liked the subtlty so a shame if they balls'd that up. Didn't watch on my end as I got tired of the 'FINALFINAL...FINAL' season dragging out, knowing how ends and - despite Isayama onboard - going as is (bar no thx for killing millions in Armin dream-chat; that whole thing in manga AWKWARD). Whether Gantz, GoT, etc we know from experience, if a fan long enough, will end in tears. Well, bar Breaking Bad. That went out at its apex. The norm is... Lost/Walking Dead. Breaking Bad Season 2: Hank extra never seen lol

Heavenly Delusion: A clip on YT/the visuals with bgs and animation made me hope for something akin Chainsaw Man. Stood out in isekai cheapo crowd. Turned out be more a journey>destination episodic series, with slowburn plot. In a way, tying into what you said about the mystery aspect/lack information, it reminded me a lil' of Lost in sense it'll lose its allure once cards on table, and might drag its feet/outstay welcome. Where I got up to, was along for ride as a boy/girl-boy ride as they traversed post-apoc setting. The split narrative with kids at that school/experiment was a bit drip-fed: liked the main two traveling more.

Nana I've dabbled with myself, over years. Last year I watched the first 10 or so eps. Nana iirc was serialised in a josei magazine, which is the female equiv seinen. Why Nana not a school girl despite being as naive as a 12yo, and has so much duruma with men that use and discard her--sex/soap opera/long male fingers/lanky guys popular with fairer sex, as turns out. Esp 14year olds. I can see it being a neverending sequence of romance/sex gone wrong as Nana and Punk Nana friendship only thing that develops. All I know for sure is it was never finished: anime ends, manga eternal hiatus due to author's health. How did the anime end? Spoil me pls, too lazy watch.

HxH another e-friend got me to try, back in day talked to foos. Think I made it to ep35/7, and funny you should mention Naruto as it went from the chunnin survival/forest portion (vaguely recall it reminding me that + Kaiji mind games), to a full-on tournament arc... where both my fucks and Russia-Engrish files corrupted. I might've liked it more during my Naruto era but the tiny yet absurdly strong spiky-midget, KILLua (wher Sasuke) and briefcase guy.. bleugh. Naruto I'll always adore for its cast/world. Most shounen leave me cold; no Zabuza gets gud point. Don't recall a single fight, good or bad, which goes with what you said.

Bloody Tracks:
tyvm for that summary. It reads somewhat interesting that there was a massive timeskip, and get to see the 'after' of childhood abuse/psycho mom, with them still ending up cohabitating. Aku Hana/Happiness both sucked as endings--author very much a... churn out textless pgs, then summat happen at very end, kinda guy.

----

You should read Boys Abyss. Know my suggestions oft suck (bar Please Save My Earth/one of few shoujos you did) but it's essentially that dark vibe/ambiance, with sexual undertone, as Blood on Tracks. Except, instead of nothing rly happening amidst wtfmom shennagins, in Boys it's slowly revealed the mom in that is far more crazy/manipulative, with everyone/thing in rural shithole connected. Also starts out smutty.

House Ashes I'm really not sure how they plan to make it 3-4 seasons. From my now vague recollection the Fire & Blood book, they got most of it out way S1. And whilst that does mean war, it also means unless they pad it out considerably the war itself wasn't THAT long: a literal dance of dragons, with a few battles. Yet they seem to want turn it into GoT 2.0. That doomed to fail Jon Snow fanwank still dead in water?

Watched a few TV series lately, as now have every streaming app on 50" TV (wher netbabes), yet somehow watch less than did on my 14" CRT monitor): tried Shogun, which appeased my inner weeb - a sort of Vikings series where non-Jap gets forced into their culture - but got bit bored towards end. It wants to be like Game Thrones, with factions/slowburn to war... yet it's a one 'n done series. Might be saving all the action and deaths for the end. Also tried Fallout which is a fun ride, that goes for that split narrative GoT with 3 protags... kinda? Lotta action, well acted, good humour, set in post-apoc wild west with giant mutant cockroaches. Have you watched either/anything of own non-anime?

Anime-wise, I did end up watching something TOTALLY NO-ONE, SRSLY on MAL aware of on Crunchyroll, when tried JuJu: Frieren. Well, technically I'd read some of manga, last year. It's different.. or at least appealng to people into cute, socially retarded girls. I wouldn't typically recommend, given it's not ACTION from get-go (though has some amazingly animated 2D fights, such as ep7-8 / end arc when seems suddenly decide go chuunn exams, proctors 'n all)... but you're now open to your your non-Gantz, more feminine side with girlfriend, so you could try it with her as I guarantee it'd entertain you more than sex soap opera: female protaginist(s). 'Tis about a 1000year old elf that is uber powerful but doesn't understand whole human/relationship thing. The selling point of series, or at least why it stands out, is it's set at journey's end: hero party saved world, killed demon kind, 80yrs later. And then the 1000yr elf Frieren starts traveling again, to put right old wrongs. A good mix regret, nostalgia, action, comedy etc. Frieren Rando Actionanimate - Frienern Autism

...sorry this so long. Typed over multiple days, replying 2 msgs, and been so long didn't want ignore stuff. Wanted give you a a proper reply, after almost 1.5yrs. Type as much or little as want, or just type GoT2 when airs. It cool. Most impressive thing about me is my word count.

Sayonara once more, mein nakama.
Believe in the powa of e-nakama, and I shall reply again. Hopefully with stuff say House of Dragons.

PS: You've seen Redline after the first 10mins, though the character artwork and cool factor worth sticking with till end. Final race gash tho.
PS2: Boys on the Run I watched the cringelol movie, and read some of manga last year. Think I even recommended it to you, didn't I? Film ended with retard boxing vs NTR guy. Gut to new girl in pt2 gang rape attempt. How did it end for lead? Guessing like Ima Hero: ALONE.

AironicallyHuman Jan 24, 2023 6:51 PM
PS: wtf is solo levelling--did that coworker get you into isekai, or is it a webtoon unrelated to isekais? I'm ignorant of most things animanga nowadays, so I thought I'd ask.

This the trailer that sold me on Chainsaw over a year ago, till I cba when actually airing. Music composer one of my favs, ambient immersion. Was the beach/ocean ball scene even in anime?

AironicallyHuman Jan 24, 2023 6:29 PM
Hey backatcha. Not sure what would make for a good message opener, butt: that Cyberpunk anime you added to list has a villain called... Adam. Adam Smasher. Thought you might appreciate this info given your name 'n all.. Budget far more iffy overall but music/Lucy makes up for. Pretty sure that and Chainsaw Man only recent anime worth a toss, in a sea of isekais your new work bff/Natsu trying sway you towards (PS: Watch KonoSuba. It's pervy and funny. Like, in a way 99% of anime ain't. Fuck the rest.)

...ah, Natsu: you won't be surprised to learn among my 1000+ anime I saw some of Fairy Tail, because of course. Pink-haired Naruto clone, he is. He gets beat up, then somehow wins anyway via nakama/the power of friendship. Dropped series as it's shite, besides having the Naruto Shippuuden composer. But I digress: even as a loser recluse that hides in shame from the world, I'd cringe and hide from anyone that wanted to be called Natsu and talked openly about waifus. Luckily, typing it slightly less cringe. I hope he at least had the decency to say Rin is the bestest waifu.

I'm likely mixing things up said in msgs year(s) ago, as recall us typing about other weeb coworkers that you seem to attract in another temp job you had pre-IT Support you got now/think was before you went to Belgium, but having a job at a Japanese multinational does rather lend itself to weebs secretly gathering I guess? Happy to read you've settled into your life in Belgium, still married and with no reason to return to your old ways. Makes me feel old to remember when we first interacted and how your lief turned on its head by meeting an actual, non-Natsu waifu online.

DRAGON HOUSE: The first episiode rule: it either grabs you or you quit. I 100% agree Viserys and Daemon's actors made it compelling, as early on I couldn't tell where it going--if Daemon was gonna start civil war. Seemed like only the daughter/niece/incest yay was holding him back. But yeah, I was into it with the ep1 jousting/child birth sequence, if not the earlier gold cloaks Daemon scene. Think what I liked was how, like in GoT S1, you had a bad king that was a very likable character. His arguing with his daughter/Daemon made him very endearing. And that throne room scene in the ep he died where he dragged himself to the throne with a walking stick...
About the pacing/actor switching, whilst on one hand I was similarly glad it got down to business a lot faster than GoT would've, felt it skipped a bit too much. Ep where switched actress Rhaenyra I found so jarring didn't even realise it was chara that swore off child birth and all that woman shiz, as a charismatic kid. Total 180. So it took me an ep or two get back into. I am glad they got to point war starts, by end series, as that the goal. Think in episode interviews they said they intend S2 to slow things down, similar to olde GoT. Even so, can't see it lasting much longer than 3 seasons as there is no more timeskips and not as much to cover as GoT.

I heard mention of that Jon Snow, and I could think was how could an actor so lacking in charisma carry a sequel to the already disasterous end of it where he should've been king and instead sods off back to Iceland. People cared for the character arc, and that's screwed. Plus any attempt continuing gon end in failure. Hopefully it gets cancelled. And you'd be right not to read the sidestory of Dunc & Egg: Martin wrote 3 parts, and says he wants to do like 10/11. Yeeeaaahhh....

CHAINSAW MAN: Ages ago, I had the very first trailer vid on my MAL page, where it showcased the best of action. But, as a lazy, depressed tosser, unless it's on Netflix these days I cba. So until you messaged me, I hadn't bothered. Cheers for the kick up the arse. I wasn't sure what to make it with the first ep, where Denji walked around with a chainsaw dog/killed zombie yakuza. Got into it once dog gone and lead joined a demon hunting team, despite only being intent on grabbing boobs and having sex as a reward. No emoing or talk no justu. The bizarrely sensual smutty bathroom/scene with that crazy Makina woman seducing him, and other small scenes like when Aki cleaning up living with those two, won me over. It had a... mood, that the bg music amplified. And ofc the action: I was wowed by that early fight against Bat-thing, with intestines everywhere, followed by tentacle bitch. Some of the later action vs Katana looked a bit naff in comparison, but yeah, they definitely went all out. Some parts such as when Aki walking to that future demon unusually for TV anime didn't have me recoil. Looked great. Compare it to those shitty AoT final seasons with CG titans. Ew.
But yeah, manga scans don't do it for me either. It had so many cool aspects to its presentation, like the end/start of eps not reusing footage and instead being totally new, from different perspective. That eye patch woman that died/ep8(?) where Denji could've had sex after she puked in his mouth still recall. I'm onboard S2. Understand why you rec'd it: a shounen for people that can't stomach shounen any more. Crazy and full of death. Not quite an Attack on Titan, but what is..

What did you make of it, 9/10 aside? Did you care for the AoT esque Levi team crushed by female titam bit where Makima/eyepatch suddenly got murdered by snake/katana?

....oooooh, finally finished Shingeki. Trying remember what you said - think you despite critiscm were mostly content with end, despite the backlash?
Apparently the author later added some stuff to final chapter, I think the part where Eren/Armin talk one last time... after Eren alreadty dead. I rly hated that titan internalised convoluted bollox where Eren could travel thru time. I don't think it was a bad ending to have the entire cast trying to stop Eren as a climax, nor did I care that Mikasa chopped his head off rathwer than happy ever sexy tiem. But by end even characters themselves no cluewhy fightingt/who the real enemy, and I don't think Isayama rly planned for it. It sort of lacked impact as Eren was continuing on to trample the world since he started so fukit, and everyone else trying to stop him because it's right to stop genocide. They switched sides so many times it lost that simple yet brutal thing it had, at the start: titans slaughter people, Eren angry and fighting a hopeless fight against horror creatures. When it strarted being written in a 'no-one truly bad' grey kinda way, the visceral dread of the titans that made the series so riveting was lost somewhere. For me, anyway: best parts still the female titan and Erwin suicide charge arcs. Before Marley.

Tltr, if you still remember, can spoil freely.

Also finished I am a Hero. You were right little point continuing if the strong female characters what I invested in. Hideo ended up noobing school girl half his age, despite being an ugly fat git, and other woman suicided in a rubbish truck. Author had no idea what doing/how to end it and went from social commentary to nonsense. Still, don;'t regret reading it. Shotgun parts were cool.

Naruto only reason remake would be a no-filler, 100% faithful run. Given they've currently got Sasuke fighting literal dinosaurs in Boruto, wouldn't put it past them, tho that 10m vid seems like just a one-off.

I'm typed out. As payment for Sweet Guy webtoon, this is a manga my other e-friend got me to read/the scans are of the English books. I don't rec smut lightly. Most smutty non-smut ever seen. Nipples, pubic hairs, sex. Great art. And funny, tho initial alien thing a cockblock. Try it when horny for most satisfaction, guaranteed.
https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/sundome_milky_way/chapter_1

Ok, can't type no more. Sorry if this is a mess. In short, yes, I did watch Chainsaw Man, tho only after you suggested. That is all. Farewell. Yet to even bother updating my list tags. Was pain enough trying recall what had watched/read.

Very good berserk review, i hate how people say it can't be critisised or if you don't give it a 10 the guts pfp kids get all on your ass over it, very good of you for keeping it real !!!

Yo. Don't worry about replying to the old message(s). Barely even recall what we were typing about. It's cool.

I'm curious about something: did you watch House of the Dragon? I was so down on it going in, I waited for 4-6eps. Internet was more positive than about Rings of Power, so gave it a shot. Wasn't happy with the main character actress switch, halfway in, and pacing as an expanded history/Fire & Blood adaptation didn't impress, but by the end I was onboard in a way haven't been since... well, GoT. Not as good, obv, but I'm looking forward to S2 now the war is starting (S1 basically all setup) and it'll be more like GoT with old and new locations/split cast. Daemon is my favourite character since Tyrion. Not as funny but entertaining.

I even got the book it adapts/spoiled self, and got 'nother book by George: Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Dunc & Egg.

Anyway, thought I'd ask iN case you have watched/could talk about it like old times, rather than lamenting. If not, no worries, and hope you're still married/alive.

...oh, I haven't added a Naruto video. My bad. Might have to watch this if they remake Naruto.

Y'know, it's fun; visiting your profile. 'Tis almost a certainty there will be at least one angry comment about Berserk or One Piece. And now Berserk will be continuing without Miura breathing, it ain't gonna stop anytime soon (his assistants, guided by Miura's manga author BFF, are gonna bravely try to get to the fucking end... unlike Miura himself.) I know you said you don't mind the philosophical depth(s?) these prats go to, as we're all young and stupid once. I have the sneaking suspicion these ain't all kids, though...

Not gonna lie: I laughed when, after name dropping Jung, NIETzel and whatever else, he ended his no-paragraph-break-no-justu by telling you to fark off and not to reply. Not that there you were going to, anyway. I can't tell it's parody or srsbiz, Baba or no. These Berserk fans need to understand Guts, the art, golden age, penis snakes, Casca getting raped and Farnes masturbating over burning people to death are the only +1s of Berserk. I'll try to enlighten him by leaving a link to me arguing about Berserk, on another forum, just for lulz.

...err, anyway: I know it's been a few weeks since my message, but I never got back to you about that weebtoon you linked me to: Sweet Guy/the one about a guy that makes women feel good by touching them; mostly with his bellend. Initially, despite the stellar art and full-on sex, I struggled to reach climax after the initial bathroom femdom, I'm ashamed to admit. Lightsaber penis censorship/no muff got in the way. Around midway, however, there was some supermodel bitch that enjoyed being in control, and the four-eyed lead got to ejac inside. 'Twas a happy moment.

Finished it, and it was an enjoyable read, with some action/gun murdering along the way for good measure as you mentioned. The plot with the Dimitri Russki being forced to 'experiment'/aka get lead to have lots of sex so some old can become immortal via lead's horny powas was daft but in the background enough 'till near end. Did get a bit weird near end, with lead no longer wanting sex random women, and forcing himself with unhappy 'if I must' faces/his headache-cured-by-sex-touch waifu kidnapped (her S&M backstory with her ex/the baddy Yakuza wannabe with gun) could've been utilised better to add a kinky love triangle... but eh, for what it was, smut with outstanding art, was great. Glad you recommended it. I finally read something you suggested, zomg. Been awhile.

Oh, and S2 of Squid/All of Us Are Dead were announced. That's all for now. Until next we sext.

I have just read your Berserk review and lemme tell your review is literally the paradigm example of how shitposting should be done. Much of the remarks and poin of criticism you made about Berserk in your review were either your personal preferences and opinions about it or just some disgusting rant. Asserting a proposition as absurd as that except Golden age arc all other arcs were shit, This isn't just offensive but outright ridiculous and hilarious, like seriously all the overall development and progress of Guts shown in Berserk was after Golden age arc (as far as Jungian individuation is taken into account) most of the Nietzsche metamorphosis had taken place with Golden age arc only. Also the fact that you weren't able to comprehend the significance of Black Swordsman arc doesn't mean that Black Swordsman arc didn't have any significance. Like everyone knows much of the gore, edginess, immoral abd self destructive portrayal of Guts shown in this arc was purely intentional by Miura forsake of depiction how horrific Gut's shadow had developed (By shadow, I mean Jung's Shadow archetype) now leaving aside this arc let's continue further to the Lost Children arc, how much of character parallels, character interactions and new character introduction had been done in this arc was simply sublime, the character dynamics of Rosine and Jil had been beautifully paralleled with the dynamics shared between Guts and Griffith. How the author stressed the emphasis on Nietzscheian life affirmative attitude at the end monologue between Guts and Jil was wonderfully executed and that's not it there's even more to it. Also, how can we miss one of the most philosophically and psychologically heavyweight arc of Beserk, The conviction arc. One the best character interaction occurred with in this arc. The confrontation of Guts and Farnes, how beautifully the dynamic interaction shared between two completely different type of personalities ( Guts who inhere to Master morality whereas on the other hand Farnes who inhere to a slave moralistic system aka Holy see). Also various other Nietzscheian concepts like Ubermencheian influence, herd mentality, slave-master morality, resentment etc. had been explored in a subtle and sophisticated manner. Likewise, other arcs like Millenia of the Falcom arc, also further explored the character progression of the characters like Farnes and Guts, also it gave us a general idea of incoming Griffith's utopia and also a certain level of a world-building was also depicted in this arc and the last but not the least the Falconia arc which mostly focused on the world-building and world development of Berserk universe also dealt which the brilliant dreamscape of Casca's unconscious. So in short this was just a basic introduction to how significant others arcs were with in this legend of Berserk, for having a better grasp of Berserk's philosophical and psychological influence as well as literary elegance lemme site some sources;

https://youtu.be/3RA6SPNP8ps
https://youtu.be/W42eBZJO7GU
https://youtu.be/j9yyO4H6nxA
https://youtu.be/VvsasUoYDgY
These videos mostly deal with the overall philosophical influence (Fiedrick Nietzsche, Arthur Shopenhauer, Hegel etc.) and psychological influence (Carl Jung) have on Berserk.

https://youtu.be/jqlbLB7Owl0
https://youtu.be/VpBmjiUojrk
These 2 videos deals with the overall brilliant storytelling and plot narrative of this manga.

So in short, Berserk is a beautiful blend of Nietzchean philosophy and Jungian psychology with compelling characters and storytelling. There's a reason why it is considered one of the best or the best manga of all time. Also the irony while praising this piece of art (Berserk) I haven't mentioned it's most beloved and best arc the Golden age (because you had atleast that level of decency to recognise the brilliance of this arc in particular) this just further proves my point that Berserk is much more than Golden age arc. Your bullshit claims like the female lead of this story doesn't have character depth is also bullshit, just check the Nietzschean analysis done on Farnes in one of the videos whose link, I had mentioned; Also other beautiful characters like Casca who plays such an important role in overall narrative of the story as well as with in Gut's jungian individuation; same goes for other characters like Luca and her scary little friend whose name I had forgotten but her development was also spot on in Conviction arc.
So it's my humble request to the editor of this review to please stop bullshiting on masterpieces like Berserk, try to comprehend and understand Berserk in a new light and don't bother for giving your counter arguments as much as I had seen your take on Berserk. I am just utterly disgusted that how ignorantly and arrogantly a person can display his foolishness on piece of arts. I don't expect much from you rather than some ad hominems and strawmans. Still, I sincerely request you to reconsider your current understanding of Berserk and shed some light on your ignorance and if you can't do that just f### off.

From You, 2+ Months/13 Years Ago According To One of Your Comments From Someone That Read Thru Our Messages~

Sorry took me awhile. Or at last I would say that if not for you taking 6months last time. Guilt be cleansed. I actually intended to reply in March after your 2nd msg. Read v29-30 Shingeki after your prod, even... but no. Then logged in last month, fully intending reply, only to be distracted by the 100's of coming soon/aired anime listed since last looked at site. Been battling my never-ending, losing battle with depression where don't want to get up up to start day and lay in bed till afternoon, which gets in way of wanting type, but that's boring shite, so onto replying~

I share your worries for Squid Game going forward. When the second season was confirmed, the creator of the show outright said he's going to need help writing more as he effectively blew his load S1. There's nowhere else can go as series other than the lucky idiot lead turning crusader against the other people behind the game, plus that as you noted forced cop brother subplot continuing after he was shot in the shoulder. I'm of course onboard for more death games but, yeah, now the shock value gone even that's rather 'where go from here?'. Even the titular squid game was in S1, so unless they redo it as the proper team game vs a poor 1v1 knife fight excuse...

It'll probably follow the Kaiji formula given it copied heavily from that where the protag takes on the higher ups in increasingly dangerous gambles to the death. Kaiji had the bridge of walky doooom/glass part you weren't keen on. About that btw, nearly all of the games in Squid were excuses to kill orf half the cast. Some were fairer than others, like the first game despite kill count, whilst others were outright luck of draw bullshit, like the glass jumping and rope pulling where had to pick teams clueless what game was teaming up for. Biggest bullshit was deffo the shards of glass exploding despite the 3 winning, just cause they wanted a 1v1. Best game was deffo the most simple, marbles, as it was both the fairest and cruelest, I agree. Brutal without violence.

Few others tidbits: I had same thought about the eps where the characters were dropped back into their normal lives. Very reminiscent of early GANTZ and how that series pulled you in: death > downtime > death. Balance. Liar Game notably lacked that downtime characterisation and lost me; another manga Squid Game took from. Not sure if you knew but the masked guy/older brother of cop was a famous South Korean actor - one of very few to become global stars. Been in some of the best films ever, most notably A Bittersweet Life. I Saw The Devil cool, too. I'm most 'hype' about seeing him more in S2, now the mask is off. Oh, and lots of people had their immersion killed by those awful C-tier yank actors. And did you see the old man twist coming? I didn't despite it being a bit obv looking back.

Whilst typing Korea/Netflix, not sure if you're aware but around a month after Squid, there was another huge hit on Netflix - was in top ten for at least a month - not long after: 'All of Us Are Dead'. It wasn't as polished or well-paced as Squid, and being set at high school, the cast are younger--one of main strengths of Squid was the quality actors when Korean acting tends be... goofy at times. But it's one of best zombie/survival series I seen, ignoring a few niggles. Pretty sure that'll get a second season, though is in a similar situ to Squid where pretty much gone as far as can given... well, the title. Strongly recommend if you ever feel urge for more Korean TV death/survivor groups etc. Twas based on a webtoon with shitty art, so think of it as a merger of Squid and Sweet Home.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN5TD4VRcSM

...ohhhh yeah, Sweet Home: saw you got to the middle and stalled. It was a bit too long for its own good. What did you make of what you read of that? Had a lot of fun early on with the monster designs all being unique.

I'd read your message months ago but hadn't Googled those webtoons you mentioned till now: deffo gonna read Sweet Guy (it's on MAL with different title btw) as the artwork is fappably good. Tyvm for that recommendation is it looks great. Love the female chara design. I too didn't realise art in webtoons could be that impressive. Its premise and art reminds me a bit of the one manga artist I know of that does similar premises/smut: series where girls want to have sex with lead if they see the tattoo on his arse. Srsly. Not sure if came up between us over years as author one of few does non-outright smut to make me fap, but 'ere: https://myanimelist.net/manga/24417/Kono_S_wo_Mi_yo_-_Cupid_no_Itazura ps: I searched 'arse power manga hentai' not remembering title and quickly regretted decision. YAOI

About Shingeki, I am gonna finish it. Maybe. I'd started buying the official releases, sold them after v28 'cause it getting oversized omnibus editions, and am now waiting for the 7th and final omnibus. Will read v31-34 then. Downside of this like Gantz all those years ago is take forever waiting to buy. If being honest though, series lost my interest awhile back. Like every series be it Game of Thrones, Naruto, or whatever, there's a point where it loses its lustre. At first I thought that was with the cowboy political intrigue, before it returned to top form with the basement battle. Think I was mentally done once Eren took out Berty. If not then, after Eren did to Reiner what Reiner did to him. It still has its moments - namely when titans fight/Eren punches Armin repeatedly - but as it's become more intricate and convoluted it's lost that RAWness that made me fall in love with V1, and highlighted how Isamaya is not a good writer. He excels at deformed giants eating people/fighting.

Anyways, I digress: read v29-30 over a month ago. Plan had been to re-read everything with my friend... but cowboy Kenny arc, or rather the convoluted bollox regarding the king/titans, ended that. Decided just to skip to where I stopped and finish 6th omnibus. First part with Eren yet again twatting Reiner and beastie showing up to rendezvous with Eren was cool. Again, series is still great when focusing on the combat. Unfortuantely in the next vol was some sorta retcon fest inside Eren/Beastie's head where Eren showed his brother how he'd made their dad kill the royal family. Idk, maybe he always planned it, but with what I read about Isamaya changing his mind about the endings multiple times, letting characters live because they're popular, etc I'm pretty sure he pulled this whole bad guy Eren direction out of his arse.

Saw Annie apparently comes back, and Levi fine with fighting on her side. At this point don't find myself caring about the characters much. They've changed sides and motives to point I feel they exist to serve the plot, and plot always been the weakest part of AoT. I will finish it, though. Invested too much into it not to see it through.

Whilst typing manga, Ima Hero. Like with Shingeki, initially started re-reading with my other friend. Also like Shingeki, mein friend opted out towards end as it went increasingly bizarre. Think the killer was Hiromi, the school girl, getting noobed by the loser lead. It bothered me too tbh: as sed in my list tag, the strong, independent womens drew me to series. That and social commentary/Hideo being awkward. Somewhere along the way the author, whom is basically a self-insert for Hideo, decided a school girl would have sex with him and added that other Kokori idiot 2nd badarse manga author heroooo. Tltr is I fully agree first half the best part; namely that shotgun fpsview survivor group part where Hiden finally used shotgun. Oda was a good character, too, before she got garbage trucked to death. Iuno, think it lost me during its one of many random tangent arcs: the Kurusu one where underpants-onry hybrid zombies became a thing. Author is one of the best at action but rly struggles with structure/direction... and tried too hard make it more than just a zombie manga. Giant monsters, alien trees which reminded me of how Gantz jumped shark, etc. Bleh.

Was a good idea to try and finish some of the better series started eons ago. Just not sure I got the energy anymore. At first was simply lazy, now I'm old. 'Tis saddening~

By the way, I'm 98% sure I've mentioned Better Call Saul, before, and you've told me you weren't into it. BUT, since you're the Breaking Bad guy and only person I talk to about such things - similar you/me Squid Game - thought I'd briefly discuss it. El Camino/Jesse's film was shite, and early on Saul seemed more like prequel fanservice with cameos from know-they-gon-die baddies from Breaking Bad. It honestly gets really good, though, with Saul's brother Chuck, culminating in the intense third season. It gets you to understand how Saul goes Walter White. The new characters you don't know the fates of have superb actors. And the direction/cinematography, with those coild openings from Breaking Bad, are amazing. Will always remember in Breaking the 'Fly' episode where it was entertaining just watching Walt hunt down a fly.

It's nowhere near as good as Breaking, ofc, and disconnected storylines of Gus Frings/Salamancas harms it, but there's lots to like about the show. Even adds a new, very intimidating villain, and am looking forward to seeing the end of the BB-verse--each season starts with Saul in the present, in hiding under a new identity, and it's building up to his fall from grace in this final season. On Netflix.

Nearing my limit typing, so before I run out of gas completely, really would suck to have traveled to see your family, wife along, at a wedding and not been able to interact. A very shitty situation. I guess even with vaccines it would be a terrible idea flaunt the rules with parents/old people, and risk other guests if your wife positive, plus she a doctor. She must've been gutted as not had much chance to interact with your family, right?

Me, not a MMORPG guy? Heh. I mean, you're right as it's been decades feels like but I was once a paladin in FFXI. Spent my time other than white knighting trying to seduce 'cat girls', which the internet has since taught me were all really men. Even married one in-game before learning the horrifying truth about 'her' tail. Not played WoW but do understand the draw/grind. Played Elden Ring recently: very good, but ye be warned if plan to play it with gf as invaders will murder you/your gf. Nothing worse than trying to explore, only for 'BigDick69' to appear with some PvP bullshit and oneshot you. Would not be a chill gf exp.

I too got a lot out of the 4th/5th GoT books. Was into the Arrianne/Dorne suplot, seeing where the Jamie/Brienne thing went, etc. It had a lot of tltr baggage in terms writing, and Sam cause fuck Sam in every version of GoT, but I was eager to continue.

Severance kept getting incomprehensible but intriguing very short ads on YT, other month. Looked up my alley but yyyy so many sodding streaming platforms now. Thought it ITV+, actually Apple+. Unless Netflix or Prime, uggghhh. Did look like a good recommendation though, all same.

Can't type any more. Did all this in one go, hunched over, pretty much. One finger as ever. Never did learn to type with others.

Until next time, Adam Smith. Did your wife's interest in anime ever return, or are you a lone ranger now? Guessing she watched the latest AoT series with. Part 2 of the FINAL season... think they're taking the piss at this stage. Not even Studio WIT anymore.
