You're right. we do share a lot of the same favorites. Anyone with ARIA top 10 has great taste in my books.

Fun fact: the 'pointless alien loli' (Yashiro) is actually a throwback to one of the LN author's eariler works, Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko. Yashiro was probably my least favourite character in Denpa Onna (which I otherwise liked) but her inclusion in Adachi to Shimamura felt even more out of place.

Maybe I would have had a better experience with the show had my expectations been different. The most I could muster about the character drama aspect was that it was 'passable'. What hampered it for me is that I felt little chemistry between the two MC's (as friends, I mean); I could find no particular reason as to why they were the person to drag the other out of their shell slightly. And add onto that the snail-paced plot progression...

Ahaha, minutes apart, that would have been really funny! What I'm seeing, however, is that I actually finished Adachi one exact hour later than you - which is still pretty cool in its own right. Our scores are where we deviate, I guess. A 7 from you and a light 8 from me for Kino is still relatively in the same vain, but you are way more positive about Adachi than I am xD

Oh, wow! I already noticed it with Kino no Tabi; I saw people comparing it to Majo no Tabitabi (which I was a little disappointed by) and was like "Huh? I can't quite believe that these shows would be similar..." So then I decided to watch Kino in the near future to prove people wrong and it appeared in your 'currently watching' list right after xD
And now Adachi to Shimamura on top of that. Another MAL friend of mine was already watching that as well. A remarkable stroke of coincidence indeed, haha

For some reason my thoughts about anime tend to be in English, so things I write in Dutch are often awkward translations of English sentences. So if it's about anime, I feel more comfortable typing in English as well, lol.

I'm curious, what was it that made you drop Dororo? I'm not liking the last few episodes all that much, but it was doing fairly good for me up until the halfway point.

I also noticed that you're Dutch, so I don't know why I'm reverting to English, but... yes. Just yes. I'm equally comfortable with English as with Dutch, but feel free to proceed in Dutch if you are a normal human being - unlike me.

Hey Thom, long time no see! Sorry I didn't see your friend request until now; don't check those too often.

I'm glad you liked Madoka; at least my lunacy has managed to reach someone. I'm really hoping that Shaft finally gets to the fourth movie now that Monogatari is finished until Monster Season produces a bit more source material, but who knows. At least Magia Record will be here soon to relieve some of the pain.

I haven't watched too much new anime recently myself. I've re-watched Madoka a few times (to my weeb roommate's dismay), but apart from that I've mostly just watched slice of life shows. One show I've watched recently that was really good is Non Non Biyori. Its slow, methodical pacing (which reminds me, I still need to watch Aria) is both really calming and great for setting up jokes; I swear they always creep up on me. Also, the soundtrack is maybe the best I've ever heard in a slice of life (other than K-On of course). Gochiusa is another really good slice of life I've watched relatively recently; it reminds me a lot more of something like Yuru Yuri with how it goes about its humor.

Also, our affinity is at 48.5%. I don't think I've ever seen it that high before. Pretty incredible tbh.
