hmm. I don't think they are explicitly given any age in the show. But they are specifically referred to as children In the shows synopsis and show. I guess it's up to your discretion :0

Fair enough. Since 2006 is a bad adaptation from what I hear, I will probably read the VN eventually but I got into the Nasuverse via the anime. The VN is a commitment, and I just wanted something interesting to watch. Enjoy.

Well, I am not a VN reader but the studio made sure the ubw and hf adaptations adapted the main story beats and make sense. Like if you pay attention and watch both you should have a solid experience. The mixed reviews are the hardcore VN fans, but both series have generally positive reception. As long as you understand the pacing is gonna be iffy due to route stuff, you should be fine.

Also, Zero is an LN so if you want backstory for the villains and Kiritsugu, you kinda gotta watch it or get the LN.

I see. Honestly, the anime adaptions ( well Zero, UBW, and HF ) are worth watching and make enough sense. You can always revisit the VN whenever. Also... Ufotable is so talented. HF is a visual masterpiece.
