9 is my second favorite FF game. 7 has been my #1 ever since it came out on PS1 in 1997...but I hate how it forces you to hold X (or something else on a keyboard for PC versions) to run when you basically would never want to walk slowly in the game in the first place.

So what are your fave JRPGs? I've been an EarthBound fan ever since it came out on SNES in the mid-1990s. Final Fantasy was my top game franchise for most of my life, although now it's Borderlands. (FPS with RPG elements.)

Ever heard of Ira Sullivan? On occasion, he would rehearse and perform with a jazz band I was in! If you haven't read A Wrinkle In Time, it's an awesome science fantasy novel.
