Liked your review for Seto no Hanayome. Really wanted to get into it but its just not grabbing me. Unlike one of my favourtie romcoms School Rumble it doesn't have any strong characters that really stand out in a good way. I'm only 14 eps in though so I'm not sure whether to carry on. Agree with your sound argument - I'm watching in eng dubs and even in that they constantly shout and it just isn't effective. It lacks pacing and quite moments to make the shouty moments funny.

Just finished this anime... hugely under-appreciated stuff.

Gunslinger Girl. It's made in 2002, yet the graphic is so much better than most show today.

A story about Girls who are turn into cyborg assassins. The story is mostly philosophical, sad and deep.

That's a music video I stumble across, not the OP ^_^

Just read your review... you cried to after story... I was pretty close too.(Episode 18) Still trying to find the first media to make me cry. Just thought if you ever cried to anything else, please recommend it to me ^_^

Good news, Kanon(2006) have moments that can be a match to Clannad ~AS~ when it comes to tear jerking.

It's k, one thing I can guarantee you is that Spice and Wolf, season one, when it ends, it felt "complete" and makes you warm and fuzzy inside.

oh yea, the author/music composer of Clannad. Jun Maeda have recently completed another show, which will arrive next season. The art work alone is damn gorgeous.

it felt really different when compare to Clannad. But I have faith in his writing and music composing ability ^_^. Maybe you wanna add this to your plan to watch list.

light hearted harem... I can't really help you with that T_T

However, I can suggest you a feel good anime. Although it'll take 3~4 episodes for the goodness to kick in..

Spice and Wolf series.
The show is very close to my favorite, and just listening to the opening alone felt good. A beautiful anime about a merchant and a deity companion he picked up.

The main attraction of that show is the chemistry between the main characters, as well as well written plot. Music is great, and artwork is gorgeous. (No, not the KEY type gorgeous, but a much cleaner one)

You're welcome ^_^

The show feels more complete when one understood what happened. A lot of people don't get it thus they flame the show for pulling out a cheap ending, which is not true. Sadly even the one who love After Story often do not understood what happen either.

Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed Clannad After Story. (It is my only 10/10 and favorite anime)

^_^ like everyone else, you look into it a bit too deep, Clannad is really a simple show.

The city, is magical to begin with. As explained by the Ichinose's and Miazawa Yukine. As well as even that happen when Misao was young. When ever something "HAPPY" happens, a light orb appear.

Okazaki Tomoya, makes a lot of people happy in his life time. Fuuko being the first, follow by Kotomi, then Nagisa. The thing goes on in season 2, the whole town, Sunohara's, then Yukine. Everytime he did something that made people happy, a light orb appear, he wasn't able to grab on to one during Yukine arc.

Time skip. He got back with Ushio, then finally, his father, and as you can see, he manage to receive a "light orb of happiness" (Though Ushio saw it, but didn't understood what happen.)

Then tragedy happens, and everything that Tomoya lived for fell apart. He cried and cried, wishing it all to go back so he won't meet Nagisa. (Light orb of happiness gives wish to people remember.) So the orb takes him back... then he realize, that he have not regretted meeting Nagisa. He ran towards her, hugged her, basically changed the bad wish he wished for. The magical city is moved, or light orb takes effect and change the wish, thus gave him a happy life.

That, is all. plain and simple.

>Seto no Hanayome is good.

I love you. That is all.
Maximatum99 Dec 23, 2009 4:04 AM
Yeah, sometimes I doesn't matter how good a show is, you just might not like it. However, the direction the director took with not having much romance was actually bold to not have a generic harem despite looking like that at first. It was obviously his intention and to the majority, it worked but yeah, I still wanted more romance.
Maximatum99 Dec 22, 2009 4:33 PM
Whoa, hold it right there. Seto no Hanayome is not good? Elaborate.
Manifest Dec 20, 2009 10:52 PM
Yea it was an awesome anime, thanks a lot for recommending it to me! Defintely one of the best anime in its genre.
DrinkMyCrumbs Dec 19, 2009 6:58 PM
a lot of people love the anime but i dont see why as im not even slightly interested in comedy that only consist of loud screaming and lacks any structure, like u said the comedy is like laundry
DrinkMyCrumbs Dec 19, 2009 3:50 AM
looks like we share a part of seto no hanayome we dislike.

random screaming trying to be funny then stop cause of some lame blah repeat and so on so forth, "ah its that guy who stole my first kiss" i heard u the first time etc etc.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
