I definitely want to try Ichi afterwards. It occupies a kind of peculiar spot. Everyone seems to like Homunculus, and the views of Ichi are very mixed and usually focused on that weird OVA or the movie.
I'm particularly a fan of Dragon Ball mamga and Saint Seiya. I'm secretly always hoping to find some addictive shonen as those but in the end, most of it feels too shallow, and I have 0 interest in these action anime full of superpowers and same elemental bullshit.
Always nice to spot someone with both Homunculus and Ultra Heaven in favorites.
Yeah, sounds good. I'm pretty familiar with Asano, but Homunculus would be totally fresh and my only familiarity with that author is Ichi adaptations (honestly, thought the Miike one was decent).
Nice favorites. You know, I have 70 volumes of One Piece manga here from a trade I've done, I don't know if I start reading it or just sell it, since it's too long and I don't have much patience for shonen when they get trendmill-ish nowadays, but judging by the fact is the most common mainstream title in favorites among people with similar tastes, I would end giving a try. So if you have something to tell about why One Piece is in your favorite other than nostalgia, please give me an insight. It seems a too random title for me to have any idea by spotting brief scenes and selected frames.
Thanks for the add and comment. Ah, I see you like Homunculus a lot. That's one I really need to read, and it's on the faves of some other friends. I haven't even finished Punpun since I got caught up before it finished, and kind of just stopped reading manga. It's either Punpun or Homunculus for me next, I think.
I'm not sure which ratings specifically made you think that but I can say with confidence that if that were the case, I wouldn't have spend literal days worth of time from my life posting on the forums 21 thousand times, creating a long rating system on my profile, making 53 recommendations, write tags for everything on my completed anime list, etc. And for that matter, I'm not sure if I would even bother going online on a daily basis if I was.
Hey, saw your comment on Panda's page. Ping Pong is easily my favorite Yuasa anime, although I also love Tatami and Night is Short. Sadly a lot of people are put off Ping Pong by the "ugly" character art. I think it looks unique and goes along with the stretchy, fluid animation.
Reading the Bakemonogatari manga might help you understand the anime a bit more, it has great art too. Also as the series goes on it makes the former one better by making it more understandable. Like “ohhhh, that’s why he did that, or that’s why that happened”.
