Multiple instances of clearly hateful and discriminatory comments were handwaved as "mere opinions" and the users who voiced them are left to spread their bigotry unchecked. If you come to the forums expecting a platform where basic decency is valued, I advise you to turn back now and find a different community.

Update: After hatred and bigotry have been condoned for years, the most cancerous part of the forum has finally been shut down because I guess you can only have that many right-wing degenerates in one place before it starts looking real bad. However, the bigots that led to the shutdown have simply moved one subforum over and are now active on the Casual Discussion board. Things are looking better because there are fewer opportunities for these users to go on about how much they hate the gays etc., but the fact that these people still aren't banned makes it pretty clear how little MAL cares about making the forums a healthy space for everyone.
Oh right, and they also have anti-vax conspiracy theorists as mods. Go figure.
I see your point, but I believe that someone who believes in the existence of the Atlantis is not to be taken seriously. I think that he is very lonely and does not meet anyone. It is quite sad if you think about it. I have seen family members becoming like that after losing their jobs or going through periods of depression, and I would not call the police about it! The good thing about Noboru is that he stays civil and does not threaten to murder you or send you to the gulag like this lunatic Desolated (our local unpaid wumao). What he needs is to interact with normal people, and meet someone knowledgeable enough about conspiracy theories in order to help him getting rid of this mindset. There are some examples of conversion, and from people far more gone than him!
