A lot of people use the word gay in a derogatory way like "hey bro that's pretty gay of you", "your comment is gay", "That <thing> is gay" etc...
Trap in anime is just the meme term used for a dude that looks like a girl it's not even referring to an actual trans person.
So how is this term used for cis males transphobic?
Just because someone might use it as a slur at some point inaccurately towards a trans person that doesn't mean we should ban the word.
I don't think trans people as a group are privileged, but I do think that a lot of people that virtue signal and are constantly offended on behalf of others while complaining about first world problems are.
If you want to help trans people with real problems I'm all for it.
But banning the word in anime memes isn't gonna help them in any way.
I bet if you ask them to make a list of top 10 problems they face as a trans people, I really doubt that weebs using the word trap in memes is gonna be on that list.
This isn't gonna help with their acceptance it's gonna have an opposite effect it's gonna increase animosity towards them.
Maybe the middle ground would be to only reprimand users that are using word trap in a derogatory way towards real trans people and not in a meme with anime characters.
