Hey, haven't talked to you for a while.
Yes, definitely raise the priority on it, as long as you don't mind episodic shows. Read the highest voted review of it, it describes what it is pretty well.

YOU SHOULD WATCH SHIKI.
Hatul Dec 23, 2013 12:06 AM
I guess I understand what you're saying, but I add everything to my list.. I don't really consider that. so does that mean you've already watched all the LOGH prequels? Either way, if you're gonna rewatch it, definitely rewatch it in the order I gave you (I haven't rewatched it yet btw).

As for Golden Time, yeah I'm certianly not gonna watch it while it's still airing, maybe sometime after it's finished.
Hatul Dec 18, 2013 10:57 AM
Btw, if you're still planning on rewatching LOGH then I suggest you watch the whole franchise and in chronological order cause I've noticed you only watched the main series.

This is the order:
1. A Hundred Billion Stars, A Hundred Billion Lights
2. Golden Wings
3. Spiral Labyrinth
4. My Conquest Is the Sea of Stars
5. Overture to a New War
6. Main series

Hey there!
So I said I'll get back to you on Toradora when I'm finished. So yeah, I finished it.

The character develpmont of the 2 MCs was decent and the ending was pretty solid, I guess. but the drama was mostly blown way out of proportion until characters behaved almost out of character for the sake of drama and the comedy was not very funny either.
It's still well above average for a school romcom, but I was still left unimpressed and I didn't enjoy most of it.. So I'm not that looking forward to Golden Time, but I'll check it out as well, eventually.

Hey, thanks for reviving the thread.

Futari wa precure: It has relatively decent action, but it's a very basic Mahou Shoujo (I've watched quite a few by now). Though the franchise is gigantic and I heard it gets better in later installments. I think it's a decent watch for someone who's never seen a mahou shoujo, so maybe you should start either with this, Cutey Honey (the original), or Sailor Moon..

Toradora: I know it's surprising I'm only watching this now, I don't even know why. It probably has something to do with me watching only 2 anime at a time most of the time and usually in a slow pace. Though I think I'll finish this one faster, I don't want this to take too long. There's still some other mainstream stuff I haven't watched yet. So far it's not bad and I'll come back to you when I finish it.

As for Monster, It's pretty much a Masterpiece. Idk where you heard that it gets bad later (I've never heard that statement) the only issue with Monster is that the pacing is kinda slow but it's a a full adaptation of it's source material, the only difference between the anime and the manga is the pacing (I've never read it, but that's the general consensus).

My ptw list is basically a "don't forget they exist list", mostly things that are unpopular that I won't forget exist.

Best of luck with your ARIA re-viewing!!!
starshinesMonet Dec 9, 2013 9:25 AM
All that said, try it again after a few more anime and when you know what your preferred tastes are. Then perhaps you will know for sure.

That's a terrific question! The answer, is unfortunately, not that simple. If it was me, I would definitely give it another chance, but I am hopelessly biased in this, as it is in my top 5. It isn't a complex anime, like Ergo Proxy, but a vastly simply one. There are some variations to the stories and you get to know Aqua (the world Aria is set in) really well. There are some nice, mild supernatural aspects to it as well, but overall the story STAYS SIMPLE. Which was the appeal for me.

I watched the series very late at night, instead of sleeping like anyone else would do, so I have these wonderful summer memories of watching dreamily with my window open, feeling the breeze and just peacefully dozing then waking up to re-watch it all over again.

I love it because I like the idea of living in Venice (have for a long time, and this anime fulfilled that a bit) and getting to know a place so well.

Perhaps you should evaluate what you think about peaceful anime, such as Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, and whether they are for you. If so, then perhaps you can start again. I didn't start with the first season though. My first experience with ARIA was Aria the Natural, so maybe start there? It is still a slow pace, but you don't really miss too much of anything by starting there and some things have been better established by that point. Certain rhythms have fallen into place, so if flows more evenly and a *bit* faster.

The slow pace and story just isn't for everyone, because it is SO lackadaisical, and while I completely love it, perhaps it just isn't for you.

I don't think you've done me a disservice at all. While I agree that I might never get to many of the anime on my list, I like having that many, because I watch often with friends and it helps sort out what I want to see and what I should drop. Although my "dropped" anime list is insufferably inaccurate, I'm afraid.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
