I started watching anime long before MAL existed, my first and favorite anime isn't even listed here - Tobar the 8 Man a manga and superhero anime created in 1963 by science fiction writer Kazumasa Hirai and manga artist Jiro Kuwata, Japan's first cyborg hero.

I like anime with a STORY above all else, the animation can be crappy, the voices be grating on your nerves, if the story's good, I'm watching. Conversely if the anime is perfect in every way but if the story sucks, I'm not watching it. And I like a story with a heart, I like my heroes heroic, my bad guys bad, and my eechi light hearted. Not crazy about yaoi, yuri is ok, i guess my favorite genre is eechi, I find most of it to be better written than the average shonen because it doesn't want to be ignored as crap.

And I hate Disney.
