Of course

I must admit No Game No Life is much better than my first impressions of it. Generally I don't like many fantasy series, and the 'game' genre quickly became stale to me after the initial hype of watching SAO. I absolutely hated the the second arc of SAO though, so that may have played a role in my dissatisfaction with the game genre. Accel World was alright but I found the characters to grow annoying before the series was over.

No Game No Life is a breath of fresh air for the game genre to me. Adding in the factor of bets and an entire world ruled around simple games is quite interesting. I like when gambling or betting is in a series (like Kaiji). It adds a bit of psychological aspect which is very attractive to me, and the characters are quite likable so far too.

Thanks for recommending it, I'll be following it for the rest of the season.

What you said was not surprising, and actually makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. Ever since I started online school I've had an immense amount of free time. Previously I expected that I would be overjoyed by all the time I had to do whatever I want, but I often felt deflated instead. I never really realized it until you said it but I think having obligations truly does make you appreciate things more.

When something is a 'given,' such as being able to watch anime 24/7.. you don't really appreciate it like you would if you only had a few hours of free time each day. This is probably a large reason that I've been wasting all my time sitting around instead of doing the things I should be doing or even the things I want to do like playing games or watching anime. I think I'll take that realization to heart and begin to gradually prioritize my life a bit more. I'm still young but it wouldn't hurt to get on the right path early in life.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check No Game No Life out tonight and get back to you with my thoughts.

Long time no speak. I see you're still going strong with your anime habit.

Personally I have not been as avid about anime for the past few months. Except recently I've been trying to fit it into my schedule. I've moved back to my hometown and had a social life with friends, and online school to take care of among other things. Also finally built a nice computer a couple months ago. I've been loving it but not had much time to dedicate to many games yet. Not time for games or anime.. what's the world coming to? lol

Anyway, thought I'd stop by since it's been awhile. I'll be trying to watch some anime soon. Generally at nighttime because that's when I have most my free time and I'm a nocturnal person anyway. I'm not attracted to many titles from this season but Mekakucity Actors caught my eye (no pun intended). I enjoyed the first couple episodes so I'll be looking forward to catching the rest. Otherwise, I'll be watching anime that pique my interest or that I choose impulsively.

So, what's up with you lately? Any particular anime screaming at you since we last spoke? I'm always looking for interesting or new stuff to check out. Though, I still procrastinate plenty.

I seem to have a "you" fetish :3

Is your profile pic (gas mask) from a specific anime or is it just a cool random piece?
Bayrock Jul 3, 2013 12:19 PM
Yeah I think you know exactly what I was getting at by the sounds of it, ahaha. School is a very good example with homework procrastination, I always waited until it was too late to do any homework or projects. It's just that I don't even have school at the moment so the fact that I can't even get around to doing things I want to do is even more sad. I am seriously gonna watch some anime today now that I've fixed some bugs that were happening in my server and accepted my irl issues a bit more, lol.
Bayrock Jul 2, 2013 12:29 PM
Yeah I think we'll live, but it's more of regret/remorse that I took him for granted all the way up until it was too late. My mom was able to give him a 'proper goodbye' minutes before he passed so I'm at least happy he wasn't alone and didn't have to suffer any longer than he may have.

The thing is that I can hardly call myself busy, yaknow? I've been pre-occupied with my online projects sure but otherwise I haven't had school or a job to worry about so it's kind of sad that I've got such terrible priorities and bad procrastination habits. I really do want to watch anime but there's just always something(nothing) that gets in the way or I just decide not to for whatever reason. I could at least start being a better person if I'm just going to sit around doing nothing anyway, so I'm thinking I should get my priorities straightened out asap. I'm definitely capable of marathoning 25+ episodes in a day but as mentioned I just don't do that lately for whatever reason.

I'm about to start CrunchyRoll up and see if I can't catch up on my watching list some so maybe I can move onto things that spark my interests more. The thing is I'm really 'interested' in everything I watch otherwise I wouldn't watch it there's just a wall of nothing getting in the way lately that I need to bust through.

Thanks for chatting and giving my ferret a thought or two, I appreciate it. Peace!

That is awesome! I have never really had a computer worthy enough of running games with any intensity at all. My birthday is coming up next month so I plan on finally building a nice gaming desktop to replace the craptop I've been using for the past couple years. I think a new computer would seriously benefit my personal projects and especially my gaming abilities. I have absolutely no intentions of buying the 'new generation' of consoles, and instead I'm just moving onto PC gaming like I wish I could have long ago.

I'll look into Kingdom since I haven't even heard anything of it before, but it does look interesting. I'm honestly just terrible at keeping up with important things let alone anime. My ferret passed away today and I have felt very guilty that I couldn't do anything for him and didn't play with him enough when I could. It was sad to see him go but we noticed how different he was acting the past couple days and expected it since he continued to get worse. My family doesn't always have the means for necessities and my mom totaled her car so we honestly couldn't have gotten him help in any situation, besides that I think he had something incurable.

I still have to finish up the titles I was interested in last season before I jump right into summer titles. Not to mention I have a hefty list of older titles that I need to watch anyway. Basically, I don't know what the hell to do with myself but I'll figure it out soon enough I hope.
Bayrock Jun 29, 2013 4:53 AM
What's up man? I don't have a ton of time to dedicate to anime lately but I'm pretty pumped about what this summer has to offer. I think I'll try to catch up on everything I need tonight so I'll be ready for anything else that comes my way. Otherwise, I've been doing pretty good and focused on my personal game server project which has recently been revamped and is going great.

Anything in particular going on with you? Other than being down on colds and headaches, haha.

Sorry if I haven't been talking lately, I've been having migraine issues lately and can't really stare at the screen for any length of time
Bayrock Jun 2, 2013 7:46 PM
Hmm, I might have missed something or they just haven't explained enough about him being a titan yet. I remember that he has that key and his dad told him to go to the basement. I was thinking that there was something in the basement with details about this secret maybe?
Bayrock Jun 2, 2013 10:06 AM
Yeah exactly! What got me was the string of extreme twists. First I'm going into the episode thinking the main protagonist(Eren) is dead for all I know, so then I was very confused about how he had magically emerged back to life through some enraged titan. That almost killed it for me but they fleshed out the details a little more so I let that slide due to the production value. So then I'm just trying to pick up all the pieces, yaknow minding my own business, and BOOM he actually is dead this time (and if he isn't then I call bullshit lol). Not only that but it was so dramatic, yet sudden and unexpected.

Change it to whatever you like! Haha, you know I've never seen the movie but I know what you're talking about because my uncle has a cat named Max, but its full name is really Maximus Decimus Meridius.
Bayrock Jun 1, 2013 8:15 PM
Okay.. what the hell just happened in that episode of Shingeki no Kyojin? That was crazy!

edit: I just noticed this line in your 'about' section: " this has led to me having a form of social anxiety when dealing with new people which I am trying to overcome. " This sounds similar to myself. I've just recently found out most of my moms issues are due to anxiety and upon researching more I found that what I thought might be insomnia and ADD could just all be related to anxiety.

Yeah I see that Aku no Hana is not being accepted as easily, but I honestly think that it's misunderstood. I'll let you know when I post my review and maybe it'll give you some insight on my ideas about it. Yeah I'm about to catch up with Shingeki no Kyojin tonight I think, and I agree with its intensity but I don't think an anime has ever touched me enough to make me cry. Clannad: Afterstory certainly brought on some emotions in me, but not quite enough to shed tears, lol. That isn't to say Attack on Titan doesn't display some serious brutality and despair but it would take something special to reach me on a real emotional level.
