How I wish I could fit in some days of real physical work. Having to sit my ass down 8+ hours a day is torture for someone who lived off 10+ hours of athletics a week. I'm doing 9/10k jogs at midnight just to get rid of all the phys/mental stress built up. Meh, work sucks for first-years, just gonna have to grit it out. Hopefully I can tie it into some opportunities for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. All I can say is, balance your "miscellaneous shit time" (my way to describe the those times you just chill phased out with the TV or something running in the background) with real stuff. I started to miss the times when I had nothing to do for 4/5 days about 2 months into my career.

I know what you mean when you said u cant share the new Shinkai work with friends. I think Kotonoha has a smaller strike zone in terms of audience but still, the visuals just raped... raped. I'm waiting on the next Kumo no Mukou type full length feature from Shinkai as well. Already bought the ED soundtrack lol.

5th year in Tok and yet to participate in an anime related event. Did get a work related assignment to participate in the game show (TGS) tho... was sick, I did a sneak visit to some of the VN exhibitions.

I'll admit, the last and latest OreImo episodes have been pretty clutch.

Really keeping my series count down b.c of time restrictions. Keeping up with Bakemonogtari / Ippo / Sentakushi / Nononbiyori. I may go back and watch Golden Time, i caught it airing a few nights back and it was actually pretty good. A little research and I find the original light novel is written by the same author as Toradora, doh.

Damn, idk why I haven't touched Grisaia, I know its good, reviews are good -- its obviously good but I just havent gotten to it. Ive touch a few VNs recently as well but nothing work mentioning.

Well just enjoy your time, chill and make some memories.

Let me know when you decide to join the dark side.
We will accept you with open arms.

Hey,

long-time.
Assuming you almost done with Uni??
I've officially sold out to the man ha. (work sucks, try to stay unemployed and do what you like until you're like late 23ish)

Watched Shinkai's new movie the other night. FUCKING GG
He went back to his 5cm type storyline and killed it!
Against it's only 45 mins but you leave satisfied as if you'd seen a full length movie. I definitely recommend watching it once available. Idk maybe it's already out and you've seen it. I could rant about the movie with an essay but I'll keep it short.

39C today. I almost died doing an hour jog.

O damn, just finished LB. The ending and the transition for Refrain was bomb. Can't wait.

If you think that weather is messed up: it was snowing the Christmas day on the 1st of April in Canada. Then the other day, there was an ice storm that literally split trees into pieces - like the 2012 movie shit where you would have died had you been outside during the storm. There was also a fun story a quite a few months back about the emergence of a new route up north for freight boats. Now ships don't have to travel eastward or westward with a bunch of countries in the way, they just steer on through northwards.

For some reason this season isn't appealing to me one bit. I'm down to 4 shows (2 I haven't started yet) with Hentai Ouji being one a potential +1. I think I've grown tired of mediocre slice of life shows. OreImo is a make or break for the season. Sad to say Sakura-sou may have had the best ending out of all the shows I watched last season.

You should totally get them language skills developed if you have the time and purpose. Knowing the cultural nuances probably gives you a head up to begin with. But I guess there are a lot of Korean+English speakers interested in joining the gaming industry.

I guess everyone is putting up with shoddy weather these days. I'm surprised more people aren't pointing fingers at global warming as the catalyst for extreme weather.

Lets hope for a decent spring; and that we don't get "extreme" summer

just-away Mar 28, 2013 7:33 PM
Currently on my final vacation, mostly just chillin. Pretty messed up that its snowing outside late march. I think the colder winters & hotter summers thing is starting to happen for real.

No doubt there wasn't a must watch this season; can't say I see a series like that next season either. But then again, I haven't had a must watch since like.... ef or After Story~ (whichever was later). Next season looks pretty abysmal, considering work and all, I'll probably start w/ 4 shows and cut down to 2 or 3. Aku no Hana and "Kyojin" I'm watching only b/c I'm reading the manga. Warning for Aku no Hana: the air in that plot is pretty emo. Regarding NEXT, did that really end the way it did? I was waiting for the preview of the next ep.

Ha, hilarious story w/ D3; I could just picture in my head the same thing happening to me and my friends. Can't believe they boosted the monk even more. Speaking of Korean servers, you should def'n see if you can score a gig with a multi-national game developer. I remember looking for Blizz Japan ahahahah, dnϵ. If you've got the language skills to conquer Korea, I'm guessing you have a shot with some major Online gaming companies.

I can no longer look forward to "breaks"; I just hope the weather is spring-ish forever. Can't stand these freezing colder winters and soggy-ass humid summers.

Finally all finished up with the temp job. Definitely enjoyed the exp. Not a very enjoyable end to the WBC tournament. O well, at least this will help further develop baseball in a region other than East Asia.

Caught up on the over eps I had stacked as well. I'll admit, Sakura-sou was enjoyable again towards the end. The whole series has been heavy towards the end. Honestly, I no longer care too much about the fate of Mashiro and Nanami. Continuing to like NEXT and OreShura; Minamike has been hit or miss. I liked the BBQ ep tho.

The ending for Haruka/Kanata(heh, that makes a song title) was amazing. I'm sure its better in the VN but I enjoyed the anime depiction as well. I hear their going reverse with AB!, making a visual novel adaptation of the anime.

and yea, fuckkkkkkk Blizz. I dropped by once but it was still boring. They messed up the second they released the game without PVP ready. I'll again, mention the lack of runes, and over-dependence on gold. Although I benefited greatly from the AH, I still think it ruined the game. I agree its a slip up in priorities.

Wow, I've been crazy busy with a chain of events. I swear there are over 30 eps on reserve for this season now. Planned to tackle that the second half of march. Big time focus on the wbc right now. If your a baseball fan, I guess your in pain from the elimination and near eliminations of your two main nations. I had the opportunity to catch one of the greatest seesaw game live. Jumping around on every hit.

All i know right now is that NEXT is doing well

Just pumped for when I get some relax time.

Also restarting the blog later on.
It may look decent in a month

Damn, I hope your happy that Ray Lewis's self-created storyline was fulfilled. But I guess you have to cheer for them since they're your hometown team. I'll admit I still follow the crapshack of sports franchises representing Toronto (near where I used to live).

I still don't know what made the Raven's passing game so potent over the playoffs. Don't know if it was Flacco, his receivers, or their offensive game plan creating mismatches with the secondary. Boldin's acquisition really seemed to pay off; though he couldn't reproduce his numbers aside Fitz, he showed up big time during the second half of the season and during the playoffs/final. But enough with the football talk...

The twin tail ep for DC was pretty decent - especially the final scene in the forest under the tree. Look forward to RIkka's ep up next. Don't know why but I'm enjoying Oreno a lot more than I had imagined. The new season has been all around decent so far.

I know what your saying for LB. The anime is really starting to fall below the level of impact Key VN's have. It's like comparing the individuals eps for Clannad's VN and anime (though, I do think Clannad's anime was done fairly well).

Dropped by D3 because I read some quotes about the new patch. Turns out they were still in the process of PTR realms. I might see what the new patch brings to determine whether or not I should begin playing again. Really disappointed that they took rune and rune words out of the game. My speculation is that D3 needed gold to become the main currency for transactions in order to justify the AH and more importantly RMAH. Had runes stayed in the game, gold would have been the worthless crap and the RMAH would have been a more blatant scheme to make money off real money transactions.

O well, the people working at Blizzard gotta eat.

Can't believe I whiffed on both game predictions. I don't know what the Ravens are riding on but they played solid both on O and D last week. Ha, well considering the Ravens had the game won last year, I guess they've got the Patriot's number in the playoffs. Can't cheer for the self-produced over-dramatized story by Ray Lewis and the shit-talking mediocre QB in Flacco. Still excited for the Hargh-bowl though; talk about creating a family legacy.

It was pretty jokes seeing the ep totally dedicated to Sakura a few days after the comment. Liking the one heroin per ep progress so far. Hopefully it doesn't end half-assed as a 12 piece series. From the looks of the OP, it seems like Rikka's route is going to be focused on once things get rolling. PS, I'm going to spoil the most recent Himeno ep for you and tell you that the final cut is outrageously funny with outrageous being the operative word. I think the possibility of Sakurasou ending the way you described is completely possible; It's the way they've teased all series. I'm thinking its just a so-so anime that is going to have its high's and low's. As for OreKano, all I can say is, Tamura Yukari has some mad VA skills. First "perfect fit" I've felt since Nagi in Kannagi.

I could already tell the anime wasn't drawing out the story's full potential watching Komari and Mio's route. Still, the anime is stirring up more interest in the VN.

Just capped a sick sickk short-term job that will get me over 1.5k in about half a month. A definite boost to trip money. I'll likely be suited up and working full-time if you decide to visit in June. Looking at your situation, I'd push to find other friends to go. I used to do reception at a fairly "international" hotel/hostel and could sense the obligation people felt to do crap together when traveling in small numbers. Let me know if you are coming and I'll see what I can hook you up with. Note: I'm still semi-young, poor, and have little connections.

Lastly, not gonna let my buthole predictions from last week stop me from foretelling how the SB will turn out:

Kaepernick contained but the 49ers win it with the short-game.
Flacco has 2 turnovers, one at an important time, proving he's not elite.

Had to tell someone about how hyped I am with the new season after 2 eps. First, DCIII is for real; whoever did the char design/settings for it did amazing. Should I play the game, I'll probably try out every route. OreKano, NEXT, and Minamike all good so far. I actually caught Sasami-san a few hours back and plan on continuing. Also liking the new turn of events in Sakurasou. Yea the main char is a pretty big d-bag; mood swings like crazy. Don't know who I'm rooting for though.

I'm beginning to see a lot more talks about how good Rewrite is lately. Did the trans get finished over winter? The term doesn't pop out for me either but I think I'm pretty happy with finishing games on a good note. On the contrary, those well done endings that leave a bad aftertaste do leave a greater impression as an "epic" story. I mean 5cm's ending may have been the most subtle yet memorable scene (when the train passes by and the main char looks back to see no one is there)

Pretty soon you will have earned you title as Key master.
I've never played diablo for PVE, I remember even when I was in gr6 or 7, I would be hopping games to trade while my friends were doing things the slow way. Got destroyed by dupes later in my D2 career tho

I decided to drop Shinsekai as well and go back to either the manga or novel. I still think its pretty funny that the author throws in some lez action into the serious story just for fan service.

In a bind this month finishing up my final paper for my final class in school.
Honestly, I could probably finish in 4 or 5 hours and get full marks but I can't stop myself from putting in the extra effort considering its my last.
As a result, the blog in on hold for about 2 weeks after about 2 weeks of posting. When I get that going again I'd definitely like some works and feedback.

Trying to avoid daily expenses for a while; need money for grad trips.
I'm at like $100 saved out of the $2500 budget needed. I've got a decent stock of air miles but not enough for more than one round-trip.

Conference Championship Predictions:
NE 30 - BAL 13
SF 24 - ATL 31
Fuck the Falcons woo~

Ha, I know another guy who used to invest his life into DOTA. The last time I heard from him he was totally into LoL; also tried to lure me to the evil side. I think its pretty justified to be fed up with D3. Its confirmed that "dueling" comes out before any sort of organized PVP and the rumors out there say that could take another month. I also quit... after 3 months lol. I think I hung in there for longer than most players.

The impression that remains for me about Yosuga is, it was a game that was semi-dark and not so heartful. I mean look how outrageous the anime turned out. Maybe I just forgot all the good times in the game. I'm playing "The Devil on the G-String" right now. A little change in theme but a good curve ball to mix in with all the happy-happy games I've been playing.

I think the "series more fit to be spread over 100 eps" sums up how I feel about the anime. and Man you pump up the LB VN so much it makes me afraid of playing and drowning in it. That's usually my biggest reason for avoiding things that are proclaimed amazing beyond Clannad.

Sakura sou's final first season ep saved it for me. Had that been some crappy filler type ep, that show would have been cut like an Asian guy trying out for varsity basketball (except Jeremy Lin, he's legit). Hanging in there with Shinsekai, honestly I think its another one of those 40eps+ types considering the original work is a novel. Cutting down on Anime this coming season; going to be watching 7 series' but 3 are second seasons shows. Money on DCIII, hopefully it's not as bad as DCII.

Just moderately cold here. My weakness against the cold limits my options to either going out or being planked under 5 blankets in my bed. I took option 2 for about 5 days in a row during the break... amazing. I'll link you to my blog once its legit. That crap is hard to build and maintain. @ like 15 visits per day since Jan 1 ha.

Hope you enjoyed the holidays as well. Wish you a good year to come.
just-away Dec 5, 2012 8:02 AM
Well there's speculation that PVP starts up next Jan/Feb. I just hope the PVP types and systems are enjoyable. It'd be pretty weak if they just carried over the pvp that they had in d2. I looked at the PVP on GW2 and was disappointed that they discontinued gvg; that shit made the game for me. I may check out DOTA if my life turns to shit and I find myself as a graduate, but unemployed and disowned.

I've been on a VN rampage (5 in Nov), and I'm starting to get my hands on some really crappy titles. Real hit and miss games lately. Also decided that I might as well begin something I can carry over in the future so I might start some sort of twitter or other SNS directed at a hobby. My dream plans: SNS -> connects to contacts -> connects to business opportunity. Might as well start small.

The season has been ok because the original works are legitimate. I can tell that both Shinsekai and LB are progressing too fast. I just found out about the two worlds in LB; the setting/story just keeps getting deeper. Can't wait to tackle the VN. The LB anime is moving so fast that I don't know who I'm routing for; at least Clannad gave 4 Eps per char.

I've given up on snagging my dream job straight out of Uni. You can't all of a sudden become what you want <- is what I learned. Just balancing relax time, hobbies, and building on future plans for now.

Assuming that's, 30F; that sucks man.
I apologize for bitching about 15C weather.

just-away Nov 7, 2012 3:31 AM
I'm done with D3 for a while now. Just tuning in for a few mins a day to tinker w/ AH. Blizzard is doing a poor job retaining users prioritizing PVE updates. Seriously needs to step shit up. Considered starting GW2 but I'm probably going to be working in like half a year haa.

Getting into the clean up phase for VN's. My goal is to be done with them by the time I graduate. --- was planning the same thing for anime in HS... failed badly. Have 4 in stock including LB. Almost done with Kana. My latest uncovered VN is Natsuyume Nagisa; I decided to give it a go despite the fact that the character types were not my fav (no imouto/childhood friend types wtf). I haven't finished yet but after playing about three-quarters I've learned to value more than just the character page on VN homepages. I screened over Rewrite around the time it was coming out but it seemed too loli for me. Nothing against fans of that genre. its ok

This season is good, not amazing for me. Picked up Kaibutsu-kun mid-season. I love how these shoujo mangas are appealing to the average midnight anime watcher. I like the music around SOA; havent given the anime a chance. Something about the game genre in an anime doesnt click for me - also why I didn't give that other anime from last season a chance (the one with the stubby main char).

The Sora figure is pretty sick. Most of my manga/anime money is going towards mangas lately. I think I've bought around 100 manga books over the last year. I remember when why money was being well spent on clothes and accessories last year... o well I can foresee myself being suited up for the majority of life beginning mid-2013.

One thing I can say is that once you hit a certain mark, for me it was early Senior year, you remember/realize all the crap you had planned to do while in school. My advice: start taking part in random stuff now. You'll get this sudden wake up call on how little time you have left. I think every student gets caught up in thinking that their time to realize their goals/objectives in Uni/college is infinite. But still, in the end, most people end up pretty satisfied with what they mustered in 4 years.

Just gonna throw this out there b/c of timing.
I haven't been exposed to a single positive comment on Romney.
The JP press, and Americans living/chilling in Tokyo all talk smack about the Republicans and Romney. Is Romney that evil or is it just good PR by the Democrats?

Enjoy the winter.
