I started watching anime when I was in 6th grade when my friend, ChrisBlitz recommended me to. Since then, I loved it, and I wanted to watch more. I mainly watch shonen, but I'm starting to get into the other genres. I would love if you guys have any recommendations for me.

Well, it seems like you've only seen shounen anime from the looks of it, so maybe Kaguya-sama or Toradora would be cool to introduce the other faces of the medium!

I would like not to spoil on public, since there might be people who don't want the spoiler, but yeah, that's around these events. If you enjoy the next 5 episodes I can assure you that you wlll like it's entirety. in case you don't, you should keep watching, because the finale is pretty good. I suggest that you take my words with a grain of salt, since that's just my opinion (pretty unopopular too).

Because after a huge event happens (I won't spoil) the quality declines. They introduce bad characters in the last moment and add too much dialogue (coming from someone who loves well placed dialogue and narration). It is generally accepted that the second part isn't as good as the first. Some people still like it, some people not. For example it ruined the anime for me.
If you want my (entirely subjective) rating, part 1 is a 9/10, part two is a 2-3/10 and the average is 5-6/10.

In my opinion, Death Note will be getting better with every episode up to episode 25.
