Same back at you! It's fun to discuss things I enjoyed- my little niggling complaints like not hearing the boxlike hospital have a throbbing pumping sound in the background - come from a place of really enjoying the source material. The next manga/novel is kind of different because the usual cast aren't how we are introduced to the mystery at first.

Ok, so I was actually on-board with the character design changes at first because I was like, they are trying to avoid the whole "ugly people are evil" trap and let's be clear, one guy was straight up an Igor. Sir, that's just an Igor, right there. But, I didn't like the changes to make Yoriko's mom look attractive and all anime generic. I liked that she looked like she was a mess, reeking of sweat. Because that's how her 13 year old daughter perceives her. The other real weird changes that go no where and mean nothing are the bits with Detective Kiba (who has also been anime twinked) and his PTSD. I have more complaints, but I'll leave it here. I def would not have been able to finish the anime without reading the manga first, and I know, because I tried, abandoned it, and then forgot about it for years lol.

I don't want to spoil the anime for you, but they did make a lot of little changes to things like character designs and the order of the manga. I'd love to discuss it when you are finished. I definitely was grateful I had read the manga first.

Haha, I totally read that recently too. The series is based on novels and they must be very good! Only the first three mangas based on the novels are translated so far, but I hope the other two get translated as well. It's the kind of mystery where you spend lots of time trying to figure out everyone's thinking. Glad you are enjoying it!

I hope you enjoy it- there are many different types of manga on there. I just like to sort and organize things, so I somehow ended up making a lot of interest stacks. ^.^;;

Wow, you have really neat tastes! :D I saw your forum post (I'm sorry lol) and I really liked hearing that you enjoyed psychological, horror, and mystery anime! That's my favorite type of stuff as well! I love talking about anime and whatnot stuff, although I don't really have any friends besides two or so on here either, so I thought it might be a nice opportunity to be friends or something! ^>^ I kinda suck in the social skills department, but hopefully I'll still provide ya with some entertainment!
