I mean your review makes sense, but it kind of seems like an overreaction to the death of a character if you're going to just stop reading it right then and there, and not give the manga another chance. It feels like you're being too harsh just because a character you liked died, and that's not really helping your point. If you give it more of a chance and read a bit more after said tragedy I'm sure people will accept your opinion regardless if it changes or stays the same

Wow, why can't you see that this was an artistic decision to make everything seem faster and lead to something bigger? And no actually there's another Fuuka the first Fuuka is used to set the character on a stage, make this his band and set us up for something bigger. Nothing dramatic has happened like what happened in chapter 36 this has been the most light hearted of Seo's three series even if the protagonists road to stardom is a long one filled with with tons of obstacles.

One thing i think you will like is Yuu actually abandons his phone now living the way Fuuka believed.
Using a misleading approach is actually a thing there's a reason you can't properly judge some series until you actually finish them.

I know your beef you made it obvious it's chapter 36, continue and you should be pleased.
If you were reading for the music you'll be highly satisfied.

I wasn't aware it was the whole manga when you dropped fuuka at 1-36.
Yes this was what i was addressing, and yes i am aware why you were irritated as my wording implies.
From 1-36 it's intended to be fast and there was plenty of build up being 36 chapters worth, it's intended to be out of no where otherwise it wouldn't be an effective bait and switch. There's another story that used this method only it took around 40 hours to convey with the other 30 hours leaving the character in question to cope and grow from this situation. Fuuka does something similar with the same concept only quicker however much longer than Madoka Magica which missed the point entirely of how to capture your audience and put them into a false sense of security.

got killed by a truck going 5 mph

Actually there's one panel with the truck. The speed its going is not confirmed but it's close enough it doesn't matter.

when Seo himself doesn't even take it seriously.
Seo has a story to tell and that was only the beginning of it.
1-36 is literally intended to be misleading and put you into a false sense of security having everything escalate to an unrealistic amount of happiness only to shatter and throw you into a new world of reality. Seo's selling point is realism/tragedy/drama this is literally what all of his stories convey even if Fuuka is the more unrealistic of the three realism is still a part of the formula.

Refer to my previous comment regarding 40 + 30 hours. This is literally the same concept Muv-Luv did before only Extra is this misleading world of happiness while unlimited sets you up to convey a darker story with alternative.
Yuu is the main character and Yuu is the one we continue to see grow if you're irritated by the title being misleading continue reading and you'll get your answers shortly.

The fast pace of fuuka from chapter 1-36 is the point.
It's meant to be misleading and put you into a false sense of security making you feel like everything can only get better from here on until it all spirals out of control and you realize the story hasn't even begun to start. Shocking viewers/readers like that is no easy task and there's a reason it's rarely achieved.

Either way you'll never understand why something is so highly acclaimed if you judge it and condemn it while refusing to fully understand it.
Suzuka, Kimi no iru machi and Fuuka by the way all share the same world while Suzuka and Fuuka have the most relevance having common appearances from previous characters and locations.

All of Seo's manga so far has a happy ending and Fuuka is surprisingly positive after Fuuka's death.

But the main point of these three is to give you a love story that doesn't pull any punches and the closest you can get to that honestly is Kimi ga nozomu eien. The visual novel was highly acclaimed for doing something different and capturing a more realistic approach on the genre of romance.

And this is why Seo's series is highly acclaimed. If you want to understand i recommend you finish Suzuka at the least.
There's many different techniques and tricks or new minds that come up with the newest deconstruction of a genre or idea guys that completely revolutionize something that can be overlooked easily. Once you understand that, you shouldn't feel the need to question something as much.
