I, in the other hand, came here just to praise how you amazingly summarized the whole series. While the anime isn't bad, it's pacing is TOTALLY AWFUL. Seriously, it's almost as if the writer (Not sure if I should blame him, since I didn't read the manga, but for now it will do) just had a dream about the history and decide to sell it: The characters are totally brand until the moment when the series *needs* them to become something else.

The funny thing about all this stuff is that, if you ever say something like that to a SnK fan, 95% will either answer "Well, a lot of people like it" or "You're saying that because you didn't get to the part X in the manga". That's since the beginning of the first season. It's depressing how people can't just see how below average the anime is, no matter if the manga is good or not.
