I feel like everyone has those animes where they are willing to overlook a couple of flaws they have with it just because that anime does so much other stuff right and is so special to them. I can definitely see why you feel that way with Season 2 Part 2. I personally only gave it a 9/10 but even then I really try to give 9s to animes I have almost 0 issues with and enjoyed entirely. My percentage and amount of 9s is quite high right now for the amount of animes I've watched but I feel like its gonna keep going down and down since I've only been focusing on the highly rated stuff for now and I feel like I'm slowly running out of highly acclaimed anime.

Hope you enjoy Vinland when you finally watch it. If you enjoy character development and realistic characters like you said for Subaru. I'm sure you will love Vinland Saga.

I did some research on Fate and I'm pretty surprised that there isn't actually that many entries to watch if you're not interested in the spin-offs. If I did my research correctly it seems like its only about 50eps and a couple of movies if you only want to watch Zero, Unlimited Blade works and Heaven's feel which is what people consider the main storyline from what I've read. Though apparently you also need to watch Fate/stay night 2006 and some people its a pretty bad adaptation so I'm not sure what I'll do when it comes to that. I'll have to think about it when I start watching Fate.

I just finished watching Re:Zero couple of days ago and I'm glad I gave it a go. I really really enjoyed it all the way through. The character development throughout the show is fantastic. Subaru is for sure one of the better main characters I've seen in an anime yet. I think I'd personally put him in my top 5 for main characters when it comes to how well written they are with Thorfinn from Vinland Saga, Kiriyama, Okabe and Araragi taking the 4 other spots.
Btw this is when it comes to how well written they are which I consider pretty different than being a personal favorite (though I still obviously love all 5 of those characters). Like in my opinion the writing for Lelouch isn't anything insane in comparison to those 5 but Lelouch is so likeable and he has been my favorite anime character for so long. Similar cases for Shin and Okazaki which are other MCs I really love.

But yeah Re:Zero was a really fun watch I only have a couple of flaws with it like how a certain fan favorite character isn't really here in Season 2, the time travel mechanics reduce the stakes a lot at times which makes it less suspenseful imo, some moments I feel like they went a little bit too hard with how much Subaru suffered. But yeah only a few minor nitpicks. Overall really good anime with Season 2 Part 2 being my personal favorite. I feel like that season had the best combination of story, character development and action. Really excited for Season 3.

I haven't really read any Mangas or Light Novels yet. So I think for now I'll stay as anime only (especially since how good the adaptation is). There's a lot of other Mangas I want to read first. Mainly Vagabond and Berserk since I'm a massive Vinland Saga fan so I feel like I have to complete the Big 3 Seinen. Also those mangas specifically don't have an anime adaptation at all or have bad ones so I feel like I kinda have to read them to experience them where as Re:Zero I'm sure the animation studio will deliver for Season 3.
Thought maybe some day I'll be excited enough and tired of waiting that I'll go and read it anyways.

Cheng Xiaoshi is such a great character! I like him a lot as well. He has that puppy-dog golden retriever energy (and I'm pretty sure there's some official art depicting him with dogs...)

Personally I liked the twins from S2 a lot. I wish they would've written motivations a bit better/made him act more realistic, but I'm excited to see what will happen in season 3. The hat man is also mysterious .-.

Overall I think time travel stories are a great concept, that's why I'm writing one for my LN haha~ It always keeps you on the edge of your seat when you see a good one.



SSSS.Gridman+Dynazenon have been my favorite shows ever since I first saw them in middle school. I resonated with Akane's character a lot and she became my waifu for laifu -w-

I'd argue that Dynazenon is even better than Gridman was, as someone who's not too into mecha and such, it was nice to see more focus on the characters than the fights. It has its flaws and could've explored some things more, but it also has 2 extremely well written character arcs and the dialogue is more realistic than any other anime I've seen.

I think it's worth a watch, especially so if you've seen and liked Gridman - and then you can watch the sequel that brings them together, "Gridman Universe" :)

I remember feeling this way before I started Monogatari. Too many entries and lot of different watch orders getting posted online. But once I found a proper watch order and started watching it really wasn't as daunting as people made it out to be. I was fully addicted for 2 weeks straight. I feel like I'll probably in for a similar case when I get started with Fate.

Madoka Magica was a fantastic anime. I almost gave it a 9/10 but it didn't feel quite right to me. Thought I don't feel too bad giving it an 8/10. I try to be a bit harsh with my ratings and only give 8/10s to animes I enjoyed entirely and only have a few nitpicks on. So I'm fine with it being in there.
Madoka Magica was a really deep anime with lot of thought provoking ideas and themes. Not the type of anime I usually watch but it was very enjoyable and incredible well written. The movie was phenomenal as well. I think it might be my favorite anime movie I've watched yet or at least a close runner up to the Made in Abyss movie.
Nice to hear Fate/Zero has the same author as Madoka Magica. This definitely raises my interest in the Fate series quite a bit.

I've been thinking about starting Re: Zero quite a bit recently. Its been a while since I've watched a Fantasy Isekai anime and it seems like the most interesting one I haven't seen yet. I think I might give it a shot in the next few weeks. Drama Fantasy and Time Travel seems like the perfect type of anime for me.

I've been wanting to try Link Click and Re: Zero but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I also want to try Fate but there is a lot of entries to that so that will have to wait for a bit.

I do agree that they spent too much time in GGO trying to explain how the death gun worked and such, but I also kind of liked how they incorporated the real world and the virtual world. Regardless, the amount of dialogue and just meaningless exposition I needed to sit through was ridiclous lol, at best a 4/10 arc, which is poor but not as terrible as the last arc of SAO 1

I was checking your list and was just curious, what made season 2 of SAO so much worse for Season 1 for you? For me, both were marred by terrible writing but season 2 was slightly more watchable

Thank you for very much for accepting! I have already watched made in abyss haha, really enjoyed the first season and the movie but currently have season 2 on hold. However, so far into season 2, the world that is being built based on transactions and assigning value to each member of the village is being explored decently, I just got a bit exhausted from the various plot elements and the heavy plot in general, but season 2 defintely isnt lacking.

I have also been recommended 86 by others but was unsure what made it so good. I love stories with deep characters that undergo meaningful development, so it sounds really interesting.
