Lol, that didn't take very long to guess did it.

It's pretty dumb for them to get the name misspelled, it's not like it's super uncommon or anything. But then it sounds a bit Spanish or something with the -ah at the end, I guess. Good work on the scrambling bit, but it did strike me as odd when I heard it. Can't exactly say it's better than your actual name, lol.

Speaking of names, I had to convert to an English name when I was a kid to fit in. :| They couldn't pronounce my Chinese name easily anyways. It's always awkward when the teacher get your name wrong.

Wow, I really just dumped a bunch of emotional crap in that last message. Again, sorry about that, by the way. My brain's been feeling a bit fractured lately and some of it spilled out just there. Blah. My friend is out of the ICU again (she keeps bouncing in and out), but now she's fighting with the nurses and refusing to do things that she's supposed to (trying to get up, letting the nurses changes her dressings). Ugh.

Anyhow, I'll be on "vacation" for the next week (with my mom, niece and nephew) so I won't be around much until we get back. Hate to leave when my friends are having such a rough time of it (her ex & their son are barely holding together and another friend, the one who still crushes on me, just called to give me a heads up that she's about to be homeless again), but we've had this planned for a while and my mom won't take the kids without me, so it wouldn't be fair to them. And honestly, I can't make my sick friend get better, her ex is coming over tonight to hang and talk about shit, and my soon-to-be-homeless friend, maybe she can chill here while we're gone.

So, yeah . . . feels like I'm dumping and running again, but I'll be back and hopefully life for people will be better. I hope you're doing well and that summer is starting off better for you than for most people I know!

Hmm, it's hard to explain. It's less about the plot and more about the characters and the decisions they make. It tackles the idea of why it is important to value life and what defines or does not define good and evil. It has two sides- One side is supposedly 'evil' and you are supposed to cheer for the 'good' side, but you explore the characters of those on the 'evil' side as well. Some of the characters on the 'evil' side (one in particularly) aren't actually evil AT ALL, but they were born with this fate to be on that side. The 'evil side' does not seek to destroy the earth, as manga updates says, but rather kill all humans and let the world be reborn since humans are destroying it. The 'good' side wishes to let humanity decide it's own fate, whether because they actually believe in humanity or just because they have people they want to protect.

That explanation makes it sound totally corny, but it's really great. If you like series with lots of characters and fun character interaction and 'overly beautiful' tragedy then it's a great one. It also has absolutely gorgeous, detailed art, which is why it took so long for each volume to come out. And, like I mentioned before to you, it has shounen-ai. It's mostly a lot of just implications but they are pretty heavy implications. If you want, you can read the prequel- Tokyo Babylon.

I can't really tell based on your list whether you'll like it or not, but it's worth it to give the first few volumes of the manga a shot. It's mostly just pretty art with very little dialogue so it's a fast read.

Oh, and one more thing- I would not suggest watching Mirai Nikki. It's bad. Very bad. Like, genuinely, it's bad. They throw as much cool stuff in as possible to make it seem 'deep', but in the end it's just a bunch of random crud thrown together.

Honestly, I wouldn't try Maria-Sama. I was just suggesting it for lack of anything else, but if you really don't like shoujo ai at all then don't bother.

On the note of shounen ai, though, since you say you like it- Might I suggest works by CLAMP? X/1999 (the manga) is a personal favorite of mine but I am no shounen-ai fan.
