Okay, you're basing your theory that's supposed to explain a plot-hole on four things:
1. You're assuming the teacher is the killer.
2. You're assuming the teacher killed both Kayo and Satoru's mother.
3. You're assuming that killing Satoru's mother was actually spontaneous and moved his original objective from kidnapping a kid.
4. You're classifying the mother of one of the ~500 students he used to teach as not random.
And that's just way too far-fetched for an actual, logical explanation. Unless the author reveals the objective for killing Satoru's mother later in the story, that's a plot-hole. I don't think any kind of far-fetched theory will help there. He has no reason to kill the mother of one of his former students because she looked at him. That's just how it is.
And the fact that Satoru was suddenly reminded of the killer from 18 years ago when she realized she was being watched by him is not a plot-hole, but still lazily written. I heard the first episode skipped lots of content though, so the original story might have been different. And while I wouldn't consider it a flaw, it was not the most smartly done part in the story... in fact it was probably the worst written part, which is why I started off being kinda skeptical.

There are so many things open in Erased that I think the result is clearly going to be far from perfect, but that's not what I'm expecting.

How does that make sense? The killer kills anyone who looks at him? And it's way too far-fetched to say that because he was being looked at by a random woman he suspected that he could be identified from a case from 18 years ago. Likewise, it doesn't make sense that Satoru's mother started investigating a case from 18 years ago because she looked at a random guy outside that seemed to be watching her. In general the time gap is too big for there to be any kind of relation.

Unless the killer killed Satoru's mother for another reason that is not specifically related to Kayo's case, and was watching her because of that, it might make sense. Otherwise it's just a really lazily written shock factor.

No, it's not like that. It's just that the contact lenses allow the killer to manipulate his identity slightly.

Oh, I totally forgot mentioning this, but I think it's very likely that the killer of Satoru's mother and Kayo wasn't the same one. It really felt like Erased was trying to get you to think it is, by constantly relating those cases etc, and unless it gets cleared up later there's actually a huge plot-hole. Why was Satoru's mother murdered? Why did Satoru think that his mother was murdered by the same person Kayo was? It really makes 0 sense and I've been wondering about that ever since the first episode and never got an answer.

No, anyone who doesn't have red eyes is still a suspect due to the existence of contact lenses. Kayo doesn't even know what Satoru is trying to do. Kayo doesn't know that Satoru is trying to prevent her death, all she knows is that Satoru is trying to get closer to her. Depending on her reason for suicide in that hypothetical scenario, Satoru might have been irrelevant. I mean just look at Kayo, her life sucks. Until Satoru appeared she was always alone, she got bullied in school, she got abused by her parents etc etc, of course that might have psychological consequences but I'm not gonna say those consequences alone would be enough for her to suicide, because if that was the case then that's kinda... unspectacular and a little bit disappointing. And yes, I don't think the mentality of a person has any relevance to the physical appearance of a person when it comes to sexuality. Strongly disagree with Kayo x Satoru being pedophilia.

No, the majority seems to think either the teacher or Kenya is the killer. I wonder why nobody thinks that her parents did it, or why nobody considered that Kayo could even have killed herself. We don't know everything about her after all. It kinda annoys me why people pass Satoru x Kayo off as pedophilia, but because they do have a point which the author probably realized and because Erased is not a romance show we won't see a lot probably. I don't want to see thaaat much from 11 year-olds anyway lol. It's just kinda adorable.

Yeah, that's certainly an interesting issue your sister has. It seems like she's too impatient to try to understand a legitimate story. She seems like the type who'd rather enjoy mindless action movies, and interestingly enough, even people in my class whose ages are about 15 got into Anime with Japanese dub without any difficulties and don't mind the language at all, and they're in a much more difficult age. I got myself used to calling it Erased because that's just how everyone calls it and it's shorter than any other synonym.

But anyways, what did you think about the new episode of Erased? The cliffhanger killed me, but damn I love the vibes Erased gives off when they are kids. It feels heart-warming, yet at the same time cold-hearted, and really really thrilling. Whenever I see the past time of Erased I can't help myself shipping Satoru and Kayo for some reason. :3

Yes, I am watching Erased (you really just need to click on my list to find that out lol), and it's definitely really good. They've gotten to a point where the story is easy to screw up though (but that's the case with all mystery Anime), so I hope everything goes well. It's about a 7 or 8 out of 10 for me so far. I think it's kinda hilarious how the MAL community is freaking out again. It's just such a predictable process. A new Anime airs, it seems promising, it gets a high rating, people complain about it getting so high so early, then proceed to go way to deep into it, to a point where it doesn't matter how well it was written it's still gonna be passed off as overrated. Not saying I agree with Erased's current rating, but this typical process is getting on my nerves. What's even more ridiculous is people criticizing it for not explaining something and passing it off as plot-holes when it's obviously a damn mystery show, where those 'plot-holes' are supposed to be explained later. All I see are self-pretentious pessimists that think they comprehend proper story-writing and criticizing an incomplete story based on that mediocre knowledge of theirs about it.

Oh, so you weren't able to wait until Season 2 finished airing either? Pretty bad time to start it now lol. Looks like the final match for the season is gonna start next episode. The wait is killing me! ;_;

In all honesty, K-On is nothing special. Unless you're the type of person who likes school/comedy, which judging from your list it doesn't look like you are, I wouldn't recommend it.

I also agree that Angel Beats wasn't nearly as good as Clannad and Kanon. I still thought it was great, but it was too short and didn't have as many characters that I liked in it as much as the other two. But I loved Nagi no Asukara. I know I have a large PTW list, but I don't actually plan to watch everything on it, I just like to have a verity of things to choose from, plus a lot of the anime on it are ones that I've mainly heard good things about or they seem like something that I'd like.

I like those two genres, I know there are a lot of anime in those two categories that might not be anything amazing, but there are definitely some gems lurking in those genres, such as Clannad and Kanon, as you said. But I said I love the school/romance genres if they’re done right. I have been watching the second season of K-On! And it’s one of the funniest anime I’ve seen in a long time.

The closest anime I've seen that compares to those other two (or other Key Visual Novels adopted by Kyoto Animations, such as Air, Angle Beats, and Little Busters), would be Nagi no Asukara, mainly because of its characters, animation, and drama.

Greetings, Namine's Cafe is holding our first annual Moe Girl Competition

The competition takes place in two phases. The first phase is where everyone gets to nominate moe girls for the competition. The nomination thread will open on Sunday (3/10/2014), and will last for 10 days, Each cafe member can nominate up to 5 girls, with a point systems as follows:

• #1 choice is worth 5 points
  
• #2 choice is worth 4 points
  
• #3 choice is worth 3 points
  
• #4 choice is worth 2 points
  
• #5 choice is worth 1 point
  

Unlike this, the Namine's Cafe Moe Competition will only be for Moe girls. Kawaii/ecchi girls will have their own competition later. To help ensure that only moe girls are nominated, we will have a panel of judges who will review the nominations, and if they unanimously determine that a nominee is not moe, then that specific nominee will be disqualified from the competition. To assist, here is a definition of moe, as stated by our judges:

• Moe is an affection for cute girls doing cute things that excludes sexual desire. Moe will either minimizes the sexualization of their characters, or won't even reference sex at all. Lolicon depicts children as objects of sexual gratification, literally a romantic and sexual desire focused on a child. That being said, there are some lolicon characters that are also depicted as moe.
  

If a nominee is disqualified, she will be removed from the member's list. The rest of the member's list will still be available for the competition, but backfilling a disqualified nominee will not be allowed.

After the nominations are over, the points for each girl are tallied. The top 32 are put into a bracket style competition, the one with the most points will be ranked #1, and will face the one ranked #32 with the least points (no random competition selection).

A new competition will start every two days, and each vote is open for 4 days. This means there Will be a total of 31 competitions to name a champion. The winning character will get a special place on the layout for her, a card edition just for her, and have the fame and recognition of being Namine's Cafe's firsy moe champion (LOL). If we get enough support for the moe competition, we may follow it up with other competitions.

Well if the author did have the time to make 900 chapters he'd have way enough material to make them with actual Gantz characters. It's true that the last part is too obvious as the end but before that there could have been a lot more of stories with the aliens, like how Kei was actually getting to feel guilty about killing them when they came for revenge, or the vampires that got completely forgotten or given up on by the mangaka. Even with that shitty end it's still 1/3 of Conan.

I've finished Gantz ever since the last chapter came out : I've never been so deceived. I just didn't consider the part with these god-like aliens are Kei's resurrection, I just thought they took her appearance or something.

This god damn manga had so much to it, maybe one of the best universe and characters, but it ended up failing way too much. I could have seen it going for more chapters than Conan, seeing how many characters still weren't fully used / could be resurrected.
