Oh nah, don't worry. It's not that easy to scare me off. I try to respond to messages when I can but something else comes up and I find myself too busy and too lazy to reply for a while.

There's really nothing wrong with gaming or watching anime, but you just need to be able to prioritize the more important things first such as work, school, family, etc etc. If anything anime is a major part of the reason I was able to change my life for the better. A few years ago I used to play games hardcore too, I mostly play casually now.

My main advice would be to set a goal and hold yourself accountable for it. Whether it's to lose weight, find a job, or become more socially active. It's very difficult to do by yourself, so it'd be helpful to find people with similar goals and hold each other responsible. I did everything on my own and I think it would have made a huge difference if I had someone to push and inspire me back in the early stages of my change. That takes me back to our discussion about anime girls, that there's quite a few I really could live for without fail.

I keep seeing ads and tid bits for Battlefront, that takes me back to when I used to spend the summer playing the first one with my brother. We'd cramp up in a tiny room and play split screen all day while sweating like hell.

Honestly from what you've described, you sound similar to how I was a couple of years ago. I didn't have a goal or dream in life, I wasn't passionate about anything, I hated dealing with people - it felt like a waste of time to make idle small talk, I spent about 90% of my time gaming and watching anime, and in general I had no reason to live. I understand what you mean with Nao, that's how I've felt about Nagisa from Clannad and a handful of anime girls I've stumbled across. Honestly I feel like I could start fresh and live for that person and I would find no greater joy than to love her and make her happy.

But realistically speaking, you'll never run into someone who can turn your life around for you. You can find people who are willing to help you along the way, but only you can change your own life. I spent years hoping someone would one day save me from my depression and self-hatred, but it wasn't until I actually got up on my own feet that I started to move in the right direction.

I apologize if I come off as preachy or heavy-handed, I'm not trying to lecture you. It's just that from my experience fitness and anime have literally saved my life.

Wow, learning a language from a game? I'm sure that is quite a tale. I love Ace Combat 4, 5, and Zero. It's a shame I no longer own them, finding PS2 games at stores is so hard nowadays. I've actually been replaying Conviction myself. Even though it's my least favorite Splinter Cell, I still really enjoy Deniable OPs. I play hunter mode on the DLC maps and it's an exciting way to kill 20-30 minutes.

I keep seeing Akiba Strip at GameStop, it looks really strange. I don't really play JRPGs or anime-games but I've thought about getting a PS3 for games like Tales of Xillia, Valkyria Chronicles, and Atelier. My favorite JRPG has to be Dark Cloud on the PS2 though. I replay it every December and it always brings back the nostalgia and memories.

Hey you're not alone on wanting a waifu, although I'd say Tomori Nao would be one of my last resort choices :p. People make waifu jokes all of the time, but there's lots of fans who probably want a meaningful relationship with someone similar to their favorite anime characters. Myself included. Personally I'd like to find someone who is as caring and kind as Nagisa from Clannad, but also strong willed like Yona from Akatsuki no Yona.

I don't know your situation, but based on what you've told me it sounds like you're a bit like how I used to be. I've hit rock bottom on many occasions and the two things that always pulled me back up were fitness and anime. Anime would constantly inspire and motivate me to work harder and become stronger. Working out and getting in shape has opened up so many doors in my life and really I feel like there's more meaning and purpose now. Basically I found the will to live as a result.

Sorry for the late reply, on my way down to your comments section I suffered a major moe overload and had to indulge in all things cute.

Aye, Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite game franchises. I haven't played it in a while though, just can't keep up it every year now and wanted a break to make it fresh again. I'm also a big Splinter Cell nut. What games do you play?

LOL at that Alan Wake reference on your profile. Quantum suicide is immortality...in...Night Springs!
