Anyway, I'm really glad you loved Tsurune. I have been gatekeeping it from others so I never got the chance to discuss it with anybody!!
I loved how Tsurune focuses on the characters and their dynamics much more than the sport, as well.
Masa-san has my heart. I love that they showed how he was struggling as a new teacher as well as finding his way while guiding his students.
The sport just became the medium through which the mangaka was able to deep-dive into the Slice of Life themes! Very much like Haikyuu! (I would highly suggest if you haven't already watched it.)

And yes, I completely agree. Josei has such a subtle way of being real as well as entertaining. I love it. I can say Seinen does it well too, but I do find that I somehow prefer Josei written by a female mangaka over Seinen written by a male mangaka any day. I suppose mainly because we can relate to the real issues, and how the focus is mostly on the characters' internal growth and their relationships (not the romantic ones).
