3 Rules of Anime Watching - Note: Exceptions can be made on any of the rules.

• Don't watch bad Anime. Time is precious. We only have a limited amount of time on this Earth. So don't waste it on bad anime.
  
• Watch all Anime in their recommended/proper orders unless it conflicts with the previous rule. See Subsection regarding airing order.
  
• Always finish an Anime series but only if it does not conflict with the previous 2 rules. See Subsection regarding filler episodes.
  
  Subsection of the First Rule:
  
  • Always watch Anime subbed unless the dub is deemed acceptable by those who have seen it first.

  • Always watch the uncut/uncensored version of the Anime. An edited version diminishes its full value. The only exception for watching the edited version of an Anime would be for very minor edits that do not impact the overall story or characters.
    
  • Do not watch ripoffs of other Anime unless it is enjoyable or seems like it is worth watching. Ex: Guilty Crown=Code Geass ripoff
    
  Subsection of the Second Rule: Some Anime are better when they are not viewed in their airing orders. So only deviate from this rule when the alternate viewing order is recommended.

  Subsection of the Third Rule: If the Third Rule (finishing an Anime) conflicts with the Second Rule (watch in proper order) then attempt to complete the series as best as possible. Filler episodes are entirely optional to watch since they do not contribute to the plot.

Watch video (not my video): MyAnimeList Ratings Analysed After using MyAnimeList for a while, I found its rating and review systems to be a bit contradictory at times so I created my own pre-watch rating system in order for me to watch only the best/good anime while avoiding the bad ones.

My Pre-Watch Rating Scale; This is based on MAL's current rating system. Exceptions will be made if the Anime is good enough (or bad enough), this includes any underrated or hidden Anime

9.3-10 = Extremely Good - has ignorable problems due to its awesomeness
8.6-9.2 = Very Good - has negligible problems
8.1-8.5 = Good - has very minor problems
7.8-8 = Good Enough - it's good but it has some problems
7.5-7.7 = Above Decent - it's good but it has problems
7.0-7.4 = Decent - watchable, not too generic or it is generic but worth watching for plot, characters, comedy, art style, etc.
6.0-6.9 = Less than Decent - most generic anime lie here as well as incomplete or badly written anime
1-5.9 = Bad - not even worth your time except when it's So Bad It's Good

My Post-Watch Rating Scale; I use this rating scale on my Completed Anime only.
Note: The Pre-Watch tags in the comments do not reflect these scores.

10 = Extremely Good - has negligible and ignorable problems due to its awesomeness
9 = Very Good - has ignorable problems but is awesome nonetheless
8 = Good - good story but minor noticeable problems i.e. clichés (shows that I consider as a 7.5 will be rounded up to 8 or rounded down to 7)
7 = Decent – watchable but has common problems: clichés, lacking plot/story/character development, inappropriate deus ex machina...etc.
6 = Tolerable – has noticeable problems: too short, not enough plot/story, dated animation, very repetitive, lots of filler episodes...etc.
5 = Generic - only watch if you have time to burn or if it's short; this full of overused clichés/tropes
4 or less = Practically Unwatchable - not even worth your time due to it being incomplete, badly written or universally panned by everyone
