Ciao!
Tempo fa avevamo parlato un po' di shoegaze!
Come stai? Hai scoperto qualche nuova band interessante?

Andrai a vedere gli Slowdive in estate?
Io andrò a vederli a Roma e non sto nella pelle!

That's one of my favorite scenes. Enjoy the rest :)

btw, I found an old screenshot of Parfait yesterday.

Always fascinated by the ways Maruto uses 雪 to describe Haruki's innermost emotions, whether through metaphor or symbolism. Even when he uses it in an ordinary manner like that, the poetic beauty still remains undiminished. The parallelism, the anaphora, the ellipsis, the rhymes, everything. I can not imagine WA2 written by anyone else.

Lol, that's funny. Your logic is certainly some next-level KY. Let me tell you as someone who's the same age as Mari. Don't make everything about yourself. Girls our age aren't really interested in hearing your sappy stories. And from my experience, it's probably best to avoid mentioning another girl's name as it can ruin the mood.

Yeah, I definitely would accompany her in that situation. Maybe I should have said 'care about' instead of 'love'. The thing is, it was still in the common route and I never saw her as a romantic interest (I was still stuck on Setsuna/Kazusa). It's all just an act of kindness and being there for her. She's been a good girl and I wanted to pat her head while saying otsukare. What I love about this route is how the more time I spend with her, the affection gradually turns into romantic feelings, it's the one route where almost every line of Haruki's dialogue and inner thought captures what I'm feeling. It's like we're "moving" at the same speed. However, that's not always a good thing, because he becomes predictable to me. I don't dislike being on the same wavelength with the protagonist, but we're basically very different (I'm not as まじめ as him), so I'd rather see the wild side of Haruki like the version we see in Mari's route.

If you really love the girl, you want to 送る her, not 見送る. It's hard to properly explain in english. 見送る means "to see off" and signifies bidding farewell, there's a sense of distance and finality. On the other hand, 送る implies a feeling/desire that you want to spend more time together. Usually you use 送る with place+まで. You can technically use 見送る with place+まで too but I don't think it's commonly used unless there's farewell involved, or compared to place+で which would mean "place to see someone off at", for example: 空港で彼女を見送った. There's also phrase like 見えなくなるまで見送った. My point is that 見送る is a more "passive" action compared to 送る.

The outcomes of those choices should tell you enough. If you choose 送る, Haruki will offer to accompany Koharu to the station. But if you choose 見送る, he will tell her to take a taxi, hahaha.

It sure needs a certain motivation/drive to start one and find enjoyment in it. It could be as simple as "I like music", or "I feel cool doing so". In my case it just happened to be love for someone, unfortunately. I tried picking up the guitar again few years ago, and while I hadn't lost my touch, it just didn't hit the same. So I eventually stopped.

Well, it seems I found a fellow 帰宅部 member here, haha. Ironically though, I didn't have the that mentality. As I mentioned before, I liked hanging out in the school area with the boys from the student council, even sometimes helping with their chores. The reason was simple - they were a fun bunch, unlike my classmates. I just wanted to make some great memories. 若い時は二度とない、青春は一度しかない。

Yes, I'd say just follow your heart/what feels natural for you. That's how I play eroge. I tend to enjoy the first route the most because it's the natural progression for me, and most of the time it's also my favorite heroine. That's the case with WA2 as well, I like Koharu more than the other heroines.

Thanks for reading all that.
Haha, sure, maybe I can make WA3(?). But it wouldn't really be White Album without the existence of... あの人. There's no Kazusa in my story, it's pretty vanilla. But I admired that girl the same way Haruki sees Kazusa, especially how effortlessly cool she was when playing guitar

I totally feel Haruki in cc, but he's lucky he still had Setsuna by his side. In a way, it struck me realizing how miserable I was back then. It was also around that time that I got into seasonal anime. Truly the beginning of my downfall. I became a shut-in for months, and before I knew it, I had transformed into a completely different person. Oh, and my parents decided to split up not long after that, lol.

My frustrations with music and life in general are also explored in MUSICUS. It may not be as cathartic, but it has many meaningful things to ponder about.

Anyway, hope you also love cc as much as ic. Coda has some pacing issues, in my opinion, but it still manages to tie everything together beautifully in the end.

I know that feelings...

Truth be told, I actually liked IC way more when it was all about bunkasai and preparation. It takes me back to my last year of middle school, a time I personally regard as the sweetest period of my teenage years.
I don't know what else to say, so let me share this short hatsukoi story of mine. This happened a decade ago, but the memories and emotions from that time still have a profound effect on me even today. You'll see where my deep love for WA2 comes from and why it felt so deeply personal to me.

It is closer to3月のLion. I used to always suggest both to fans of each other. If you can bear with the moege content and moege writing, you'll at least be rewarded with Zypressen in III. That part is no joke, probably the best thing Scaji has ever written (it's IV for me).

Then I have to warn you about Sakura no Uta because that one is just boring slice of life for the most part.
I personally love boring stuff, even in real life. Do you have a friend or brother you're very close with whom you meet everyday to the point that you have exhausted all possible conversation, resulting in moments where you both simply sit there in the same room without speaking to each other for an entire day? That is what I call a best friend. And you know what's interesting? Despite those seemingly dull moments, this person happens to be the life of the party whenever it's time to let loose and have fun. It's the perfect mix of laid-back, "boring" life that I wouldn't mind having, knowing that the same person is also the most exciting and enjoyable company when it's time to kick back and enjoy ourselves.

I wish more anime/eroge could capture that same feeling. And when it comes to examples, there's none better in my book than Gintama, that's why it's my all-time favorite anime. I've heard people people complain that it has many dull episodes. But here's the thing: those supposedly "boring" episodes are what make the show come alive for me. They are the beating heart and soul of the storytelling, just like those quite moments with your closest friends.

I've been trying to find that same captivating essence in video games. I recently played through the entire modern Atelier games, and it's probably my ideal JRPG. It's a game where nothing happens and there's no villain to deal with, just a peaceful existence. Unfortunately the writing in most entries leaves a lot to be desired (except for one that stands out from the rest) but everything else is enjoyable, especially the music. So yeah, I'm still on the hunt for the equivalent experience that captures the magic of those "boring" moments.

Of course I understand the appeal and intrigue of sad/depressing stories like Kara no Shoujo and Aku no Hana. But I feel the opposite of your statement. Sadness is a feeling I easily forget after an 8-hour sleep. It's the happy times that stick with me, the ones I will cherish and hold onto forever.

You've read nothing but denpa and utsu games, man. You okay there? If you need something to cheer you up, you can watch Aikatsu :). Well, if you found Subahibi uplifting, I think that's enough.

I agree with that. The structural weirdness makes it a unique reading experience. I kind of expected that so it didn't astound me as much as others. But the text genuinely blew me away, for instance, the way it uses katakana during Takuji's pov is simply genius. That was when I started treating eroge more seriously not just as a mere "tool" to learn Japanese.

I loved Jabberwocky I the most. My favorite part of Scaji's games is always the flashback chapter, and I'm very sure Sakutoki will continue the streak, also in chapter 4 like the usual style. I view chapter 1-3 of both Subahibi and Sakuuta as a long 共通. Chapter 4 = 過去. Chapter 5 = ???. Chapter 6 = 未来. There's something very nostalgic about past stories presented in these games. I have yet to reread Subahibi but I've read Sakura no Uta's chapter 4 alone like five times already. I just keep coming back.

Subahibi is basically a Tsui no Sora remake. The base plot, some characters, and events, are taken from Tsui no Sora. The original game is totally unplayable due to an outdated engine. You can play the actual remake which is twice as long and much better.

Also, thanks for asking, I'm great. I haven't read any vn for a while now, but I did play some cool narrative games. Not sure if you want to talk about it, though.

Took some time to answer you, mostly because I wasn't sure how to reply to ''how is life going?'' message, I know it's a harmless question but I genuinely don't know, I'm not the kind of person who says it's okay just for the sake of replying to the conversation haha. Either way, things have been a bit slow, I'm just working, studying and watching anime and reading manga in between, not doing much, and I have been struggling with my insomnia so it's been a bit hard. I end up watching anime at night and hardly sleep. Sometimes I spend like 1 entire day without sleeping, then the next day I sleep a couple of hours to recharge, but it's very irregular, I really need to fix that. Oh and I finally broke my no drop policy because the amount of seasonals I was watching was so overwhelming I couldn't take it lol. Other than that I'm fine, how about you?
It’s time to ditch the text file.
