Ayamine, Rando

Japanese manga artist best known for drawing the series GetBackers.

Prior to his work on GetBackers, Ayamine was an assistant under Tooru Fujisawa and worked on Shounan Junaigumi!, Bad Company and GTO.

Because of the break-neck speed of publication for GetBackers, Ayamine was known to have fallen ill during the manga's serialization as frequently one tankoubon is published every two months; the longest interval for publication was four months, between volumes 15 and 16.

Ayamine was suffering from a heavy depression and he couldn't complete the manuscript of Oniwaka to Ushiwaka. Due to this, Holy Talker and Oniwaka to Ushiwaka have been on hiatus since 2010. He still draws casually, but now focuses solely on writing new works, such as Majestic Prince.

Takao Aoyagi, Atsushi Ookubo, Yuuji Terajima, Yuki Okada, Shouki Yonebayashi, Hikaru Nikaidou, Hiroshi Shimotsuura, Jolly Mamma and Yuuji Ninomiya were his assistants on GetBackers.

Fun fact: In Ahiru no Sora chapter 9, Takeshi Hinata once forgot to draw the stripes on a jersey, and he already sent the manuscript to Weekly Shonen Magazine editorial office. Ayamine who was there at the office drew it for Hinata.
