Well for me Crunchyroll really helps since im on a shared line for all my dorms, and I haven't torrent dl in like 8 months. I actually did a paper on torrents vs streaming and figured out just liek fansubbing Crunchyroll was founded by a site of anime fans who wanted to give people who wanted to see new animes legally a way to do it. Of course they charge because hosting a site that houses tons of anime episodes isn't cheap but even after a week the episodes are free, now of course without fansubbers it would of never existed of course but now with anime industry feeling a small hit of the economy something like a feed stream site allows the company to buy the rights to air the anime and no one can complain and with Hulu, Funimation, Anime News Network, and Crunchyroll doing something about it for fans it only adds. Currently the government is slamming down on torrents and torrents sites.

QFT.

Anyway, I don't stream anime online, and instead torrent them. But seriously, why is crunchyroll doing this?!

I use to pay for CR when I used them(did surveys and crap). I've stopped using them ever since my sis introduced me to torrents and I've never went back to CR. To be fairly honest though, I liked CR a lot and they fill the niche quite good because they stream anime legally like Funi on YT. Quality is average for 360p and when I was on membership, 480p looked good while 720 looked like a bit of an upscale to 480p. Subs have a few typos when released but that's expected. I don't know the japanese language at all and I can't tell if what they're saying is the correct translation but I sure as hell get the story correctly so their subs aren't a major problem at all.

That's bullshit yo. I wonder how much they paid them to say that../

I don't understand the comments about how the videos load slowly at CR, it's the exact opposite for me. The videos play normally without any interruption it just depends on your connection speed. I know there's a lot of complaint about the subs but oh well. People find ways to watch anime elsewhere besides CR so there's no need to complain about something that is already made clear.

There will always be a complaint about something. I find it hard to believe that translations of any language can be perfect.

You are wrong. CR give you 720p and 480p, decent quality streaming. The ones who only simulcast in shitty 360p is FUNimation.

^ Guies, why arguing over subs/ w/e when they give you shitty 360p streaming?

CR subs are usually pretty good

I assume that you either....

A _ Don't understand what's said therefore cannot see how WRONG it is

B _ Don't watch all series available on CR, especially the older ones

C _ Fall asleep while watching and somehow under the impression that you've watched it, which is quite a rare and interesting symptom

Of course, I'm very well aware that you said "usually". However, the correct word should be "rarely"
And I assume that you don't even watch CR subs.

A - I personally don't know enough Japanese to understand it completely, but I do know enough to usually be able to tell when subs are wrong. I find nothing too wrong with the translation of simulcasts - a couple have poor sentence structure at times, but nothing that changes the meaning of what is said.

B - I've watched every single simulcast on CR since Spring 09 except 6 series. Out of those simulcasts, I can't name more than 4 with translations that were genuinely bad. However, as you say, some of the translations for old series are absolutely terrible, but that's got nothing at all to do with current simulcasts.

C - I'm sure I don't need to answer that.

ive seen far worse subs than crunchies... unlike alot of people i like using crunchy (as a free member i'll never pay...) the vids actualy get good loading time and have fair quality... it takes like a half hour of waiting to get vids to load for me on other sites...

Old news. Crunchyroll already announced their lineup for the new season.
This isn't the full lineup, only the simulcasts from Kadokawa and TV Tokyo (+ Super Robot Taisen). There should be around another 3-6 more titles for CR this season.

Hey i dont know what you mean by stream ? :S with subtitles in Portuguese ? , Im from Portugal and they will pass Sora no Otoshimono in portugal ? Or i need to go at crunchroll site? to watch?=
You watch it in an online media player, in Japanese audio, with Portuguese subs, on CrunchyRoll.

BTW, I don't know why an anime getting on CrunchyRoll is news-worthy. There's plenty of shows that get added on there.

Sigh.

Cruncyroll strikes again! x_x.

I understand that its like legal on there, but seriously the worst subs EVER. It would have been better if it was on Funnyanimation. >_>
