@Pakumen- Dude you yourself don't understand 💀. CSM was a commercial success. It wasn't a Demon Slayer wave that Mappa expected. The BD sales were reported by ORICON, a big distribution company not related to CSM's adaptation. CSM goods were sold in Mappa's own website weeks before it was released on other websites. Do you know what the investment of CSM was? I hate to be the person who brings budget in everything but it had a "Budget" greater than all of Fall 2022 shows combined. You don't get 12 of the top Japanese Bands for free. They cost millions. If CSM had failed commercially do you know where Mappa got the money to run a 380+ employees studio and hire the whole Industry for JJK s2? No one is funding CSM btw, It's all MAPPA. A big movie needs $2-5 million. If you still think it's a failure just look up how much Crunchyroll paid them for exclusive rights.

@Jonas-K Well. The movie already has a production of 7 months. Assuming it's trailer is going to drop at the MAPPA stage 2024 may. That's 9 months of production time. Assuming the movie drops in December. That's 15 months of production time.

@MadanielFL I enjoyed the heck out of Kizuna no Allele. Currently at the end of the second season. One of Wit's best shows.

@Pakumen- same story with mashle. They had a1 pictures animate it and it sold almost know discs and made almost no boosts in manga sales. CSM is obviously in better shape than Mashle since CSM has figures, but hard to recoup marketing costs

@Jonas-K the production already started and its 3 months and ongoing now https://twitter.com/MappleYellovv/status/1736393175630270955 so it will surpass the 4 months total production of jujutsu kaisen 0

It's been a while since I've read the manga, but a movie to cover this part of the story sounds like a good idea. I don't understand the pessimism here.

It's a pretty focused storyline that's not too long, there's extended action that might become awkward if it's cut up too much, and it has a clear endpoint that feels satisfying and final. Experiencing the entire whirlwind of a story in one sitting sounds great to me.

I did not enjoy Season 1 as much as I would have liked, but I think the director of Season 1 might be a better fit for this arc than he was for Season 1 arc, actually. He seems interested in the quiet moments and the sadness under the surface, which I would like to see in this arc. The action sequences are another story, though, but I would like to think they could change up the staff and the process to improve them.

It seems they'll ignore the tone set my the last director and actually make it good this time. Here's hoping.

This implies that a future second season will cover the rest of the manga in about 13 episodes with some rush, like S1 did.

Now for those that still don't understand it, yes the anime was a failure because they put all of their actions and huge amounts of budget into it and it didn't sell, however is obvious that this project has to finish anyways, they are not letting the hype of the manga die (yet).

That being said this arc must be a nightmare to animate, so I wonder how much CGI are we getting.

Pff another CSM project, that Denji hungers for p**sy.
JJK 0 was done for 4 months whats next from MAPPA, we are the best and we can do this time for like 3 months.

Are you going to make this movie in only 4 months too Mappa? hehe..

@thebrentinator24 I'm also a human being and I also have a show or manga that evokes negative or controversial emotions in me. But I just try to ignore them without a compelling reason, because the another controversy and even just discussing it brings me nothing but negative experiences. In the long term, this can also negatively affect the things that I really love, because instead of enjoying them, I will be busy with something that brings me negative emotions. So, I just try to let it go and ignore it as much as possible.

@RobertBobert If people want to be negative for the sake of some corny agenda, they'll expend however much time and energy they need to.....when they could just make the sensible decision of ignoring what they don't like and moving on with their life. But like Piromysl said, they won't get clout that way.

@Oppai_Loli_God Well then it's a good thing they can add some anime-original stuff to flesh out the story and pacing 🤯🤯

Dec 17, 2023 6:59 AM by thebrentinator24

Ive always been thinking how they would go about adapting the rest of the series cause theres simultaneous not that much left but too much to adapt in a single cour without rushing it, making reze a movie and then saving the craziness after that for a tv season is smart and really lets the material breathe on both ends.

Dec 17, 2023 5:21 AM by JizzyHitler

@Piromysl Is it worth spending so much energy and emotions on frankly negative experiences?

@Piromysl Is it not enough for you that people are trying to devalue it already in this thread? Honestly, I don't understand at all why anyone would dislike an obviously non-controversial show so much.

Popular show > hot takes bring lot of attention > enjoy free clout
