Riku Misora's Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry (Chivalry of a Failed Knight) light novel will end with the 19th volume on December 15, according to a post by the GA Bunko imprint's official Twitter on Friday. The account also posted the cover for the final volume (pictured).

The light novel entered its final arc with the 18th volume in June 2020. Misora originally intended to finish the light novel by 2022 after consulting with their editor in December 2021. This marks the conclusion of the light novel's ten-year run.

Misora began penning the school fantasy light novel under SB Creative's GA Bunko imprint in July 2013, featuring illustrations by Won. The 17th volume went on sale in November 2019. Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry has a cumulative 1.5 million copies in circulation as of February 2017.

Gangan Online serialized a manga adaptation by Megumu Soramichi (Zombieland Saga) from March 2014 to December 2017. Square Enix published the manga in 11 volumes between December 2014 and April 2018.

Silver Link. and Nexus adapted the light novel into a 12-episode television anime in Fall 2015, covering the first three volumes. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime in North America and simulcast it on Hulu. The company began streaming an English dub on HIDIVE and released the anime on home video in June 2017.

Sol Press licensed the light novel in English in November 2019 and released the first three volumes in print and digital in the same month and volumes four and five in digital-only edition in July and December 2020 before going defunct.

That's nice. i've read 4 volumes, and might pick it up again.
I liked reading it, with the occasional illustrations in between, as it is with the usual LNs.
But i really do want a 2nd Season of the Anime...

I don't care for novels/mangas/ect which get an anime adaptation solely for the purpose of boosting sales of the source material. They always get 1 season and leave fans feeling disappointed that season 2 will never come.

I'd like to read the novel but it's stuck in English, so I pray for the anime to resume. Love the illustration.

They're going to rush the hell out of the plot to finish it in only 1 volume, but what can I even say, the series had been going downhill since volume 10 and at last having it end is better than the eternal hiatus it was in.

...yeah, Im gonna parrot and say this would've been cool to come with a S2 announcement. The manga even ended at the arc just directly following the anime only.

I thought I would read "  Light Novel 'Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry' gets a 2nd season " lol .

I thought about giving the series a read both times after I finished the series. But I will continue to hope for a 2nd season! If no luck for a while still, I feel like I'll get back to this.

We wait for too long, I think High School DxD will eventually need to move as well.

If they decide to burst it up with a new anime like they did with Mahouka and KonoSuba.
