This year's 27th issue of Young Jump announced on Thursday that Satoru Noda will begin a new manga. The new work is a remake of his previous sports manga Supinamarada!. The series will launch in the magazine's 35th issue on July 27.

Noda's latest manga, Golden Kamuy, began in Young Jump in August 2014. Shueisha released the 31st and final volume last July. The manga has a cumulative 24 million copies in circulation.

Golden Kamuy ranked first in the 9th Manga Taisho, received the Grand Prize in the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and placed seventh in the male readers' division in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in October 2016 and released the 28th volume on February 21. The 29th volume is scheduled to ship on June 20.

Cool. Hopefully this means that the original version of "Supinamarada!" will get fully translated so that I can finally read all of it.

@Memore Yes! I'm glad it's being remade because as others and you have mentioned, we need more good sports series. Especially considering that hockey isn't too popular in Japan. I think it will sell well this time. :)

Hopefully it succeeds. Hockey is my favourite sport and probably one of the best sports for a sports manga/anime. It's just too bad it's not super popular in Japan but love Noda's devotion to the sport at least. The creator of Golden Kamuy is a great mangaka I think I gave the original series a quick look but will wait for the new version.

@CQLLIST, maybe he want to reimagine his ideas in the work.

I haven't read the original but I wonder what happened that the author decided to make a remake for it

@RobertBobert, yes, I agree, we need more good sports anime.

If it's successful enough to get an adaptation, hopefully we'll finally see a full hockey anime.

I like sports series and it would be great to be a remake of his previous work.

I haven't read the few original Supinaranda chapters but I'm very excited for this! It's great that Noda finally got the chance to redo his passion project.

I was buying whatever volumes I could of Supinamarada! online but it never got a translated release, so I had to make-do. Then I saw that it was canceled and it was disappointing news because I really enjoyed it. Going to be optimistic on sales now that Golden Kamuy has made Satoru Noda more recognizable. Although I read that characters in Supinamarada! were getting a redesign along with some other changes. Should be interesting! However I hope the characters don't lose their charm from the original manga.
