The 12th and final episode of Trigun Stampede announced on Saturday that it's receiving a sequel. The official website also posted a teaser visual (pictured) and an announcement video.

The first season, produced by animation studio Orange, premiered on January 7. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the anime in subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.

Nightow originally published a Trigun one-shot in Monthly Shounen Captain in February 1995. The action adventure manga began regular serialization in April that year but went on hiatus in January 1997 due to the magazine's discontinuation. Tokuma Shoten released the manga in three volumes between April 1996 and January 1999. Shounen Gahousha later republished it in two volumes in June 2000.

Nightow resumed the original manga under the new title Trigun Maximum in Young King OURs in October 1997. After a ten-year run, the manga ended in March 2007. Shounen Gahousha released the manga in 14 volumes between May 1998 and February 2008 and later in seven volumes from February and September in 2010.

Dark Horse Comics licensed the manga in English in June 2003 and released it in two volumes in October 2003 and January 2004, and in an omnibus volume in October 2013. The publisher also released Trigun Maximum between May 2004 and April 2009 and in five omnibus volumes from December 2012 to November 2014.

Madhouse adapted the manga into a 26-episode television anime that aired from April to September 1998. The Trigun: Badlands Rumble side story movie premiered in April 2010.

Synopsis
On the planet Noman's Land, reporters Meryl Stryfe and Roberto De Niro traverse the desert in search of the infamous outlaw Vash the Stampede. But the man they find near the desolate town of Jeneora Rock is a far cry from the lethal terrorist they expect. In reality, Vash is a passive and carefree drifter; he is a proponent of peace, beloved by the residents of the town. His inaccurate reputation actually stems from the widespread atrocities committed by his twin brother Knives Millions. Still, Vash is dubbed "The Humanoid Typhoon'' due to the tendency for violent chaos to follow in his wake.

Chaos soon arrives in the form of bounty hunters seeking the high price on Vash's head, and their violent pursuit poses great danger to the town and its precious power plant. Thanks to his gunslinging prowess, Vash is able to resist most of these nefarious forces. Yet he must soon face off against the ultimate evil: the unstoppable destructive power of his malevolent brother. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The CGI doesn't matter, I just wish they would fix Vash's hair style so he doesn't look like a zoomer.

Also, bring back Milly Thompson, you evil fucking bastards.
this is actually how his hair look in the manga at this point in time. He didn't get the spikes till a bit latter on.

That finale was SICK, also I see that the Milly girl from the original is about to show up too, so I'm excited to see more of the events of the original version

While this is, of course, both awesome news and very expected considering how much foreshadowing and set-up got peppered throughout S01, I'm a bit worried about the wording. "Kanketsu-hen" simply means "final stage," which might not necessarily indicate a serialised S02. It could be some weird slapdash thing like OVA's or movies, which might take literal decades to come out. I'm still waiting on the Girls and Panzer and Princess Principal finales more than 5 years after their serialised versions ended, for god's sake.

I hope they announce the format soon so I can either continue in anticipation or put it on my "maybe someday they'll get the last part out" list, haha.

Well deserved. Season 1 was simply amazing. It's an example how sakuga CGI anime should look like. Studio Orange has proven that they are currently the grandmasters of CGI anime. Not to mention how creatively they could make a reboot presenting a lot of original stuff, but stay faithful to most of the main plot points from the manga.

While all of us can have opinion, it's always funny to see people almost passionatively whining about "CGI bad". Trigun from 1990s was made in hand-drawn technique, so I hope people who are thrashing CGI without any sane reasons would have been consequent if, let's say, season 2 had been done in digital 2D. After all, hand-drawn > digital all the way, amirite? ;) Ah, I almost felt as it was early 2000s again.

The ending felt kind of weak emotionally for me, but I am still excited for the second season.

Welp, ep 12 sure hyped things up lol. I recon it might silence some of the bashers if they just give it a chance and watch up to that episode.
CGI or not just give it a chance. it will pay off.. trust me ;)

Cool, I guess. I should probably watch it now.

Amazing news! Having read the manga and watched the original 1998 anime, I loved Stampede. I'm eager to see this project's take on the plot events of Trigun Maximum. Hope we get to see more of Legato and Milly's introduction to the Stampede continuity.

You all are so naive, ypu really think cel and drawn animation is coming back even when it is not. You are living a fantasy, There is no easter bunny, cel and drawn animations are not coming back and there is no queen of England. This is the real world and you need to wake up.

I dont know why people hate so much CGI, is not that bad in general and this one I think did a pretty good job. I know the detail and quality of cel animation is sublime, but it is not coming back. Is like making LP record(Vinyl) the main way of music distribution, NOT GONNA HAPPEN BOB. And in a way I think it is good, as CGI will improve over time.

This has to come sooner by any means, as that last episode hyped the fuck out of everything.
