'Gintama' Spin-off Light Novel '3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei' Gets Anime

The Gintama Ato no Matsuri event announced an anime adaptation of Tomohito Oosaki's 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei (3-Z Class's Ginpachi-sensei) spin-off light novel on Sunday.

Oosaki began writing the spin-off in February 2006 under Shueisha's Jump J Books, featuring illustrations by Hideaki Sorachi. The eighth volume went on sale in June 2018.

Sorachi serialized the original Gintama manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from December 2003 to September 2018. The manga then transferred to Jump Giga and ran for three consecutive issues from December 2018 to February 2019. The last few chapters were released on the official Gintama app from May to June 2019.

Viz Media licensed the manga in English in 2006 and released the first 23 volumes from July 2007 to August 2011.

The first television anime produced by Sunrirse aired 201 episodes from Spring 2006 to Winter 2010, followed by six seasons between 2011 and 2018, several original video anime, original net anime, and movies. The final installation in the franchise, Gintama: The Final (Gintama: The Very Final) movie, opened in Japanese theaters in January 2021.

i was so scared when i saw the announcement because it was too close to april 1st for me to feel safe about it not being a gag but god i have missed this series like a limb

I'd say yes since this doesn't have any major plot or connection to the main series, it just takes the characters and puts them into a school setting, with Gintoki acting as a teacher to the classroom which is full of other characters from the series. All you need to know at least a little are characters I guess.

I'm aware of some of them so I think I'll be fine...Thanks!
