The wraparound band on the third compiled volume of 1-nichi Gaishutsuroku Hanchou, which goes on sale on March 6, revealed on Friday that Kaiji spin-off manga Chuukan Kanriroku Tonegawa (Middle Manager Tonegawa) will receive a TV anime adaptation. Produced by studio Madhouse, the anime will broadcast on NTV's AnichU programming block this year. Details regarding the anime will be announced at a later date.

Synopsis
The story centers on Tonegawa, the right hand man of Kazutaka Hyoudou, the president of the Teiai Corporation and owner of numerous gambling tournaments. Jaded with his life, Hyoudou orders Tonegawa to organize a so called "game of death," as it is his and his subordinate's job to keep the president in a good mood. Tonegawa must cooperate with his subordinates to keep the president happy, and what follows is a humorous story of his interactions with his subordinates and other characters of the Kaiji series.

Written by Tensei Hagiwara with artworks by Tomohiro Hashimoto and Tomoki Miyoshi, the manga has been serialized in Monthly Young Magazine since June 2015 in collaboration with Kaiji series creator Nobuyuki Fukumoto. Kodansha published the sixth compiled volume on November 6 last year. The series placed first in the 2017 Kono Manga ga Sugoi rankings under the male readers category, and currently has over two million copies in circulation, including e-book versions.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

I thought anything related to Akagi/Kaiji was dead since Madhouse is quite dead (SADLY) too. But this news is music to my ears!!!!
It's not Kaiji S3 okay (If it was I'd be screaming till my lungs bled) but anything related to Kaiji (Or in this case, Tonegawa ;)) is welcome!

Pls bring back the glory days of Madhouse

I really thought that Kaiji anime was dead. This looks promising. Maybe we'll even get a S3.

Anything Kaiji related is welcome. Although I don't mind just reading the mangas, seeing Kaiji animated is so nice, especially when the adaptation is so accurate.
