Is Monster Musume really that good?
it makes my dick hard. Is that good enough?

And also when will people realize that AoT looks like it's been drawn by a five year old? The art is absolutely atrocious for a "professional" piece of work. Also good to see naruto high on the list.

Lol. I don't agree with you about attack on titan artwork. But I think its pretty obvious people aren't reading snk manga for the gorgeous artwork. Instead they're reading it for the story.

This is actually something the author could brag about. He doesn't need a gorgeous artwork or fanservice to get his readers attention. I think that speak volume of the series overall quality.

So Attack is now more popular than Naruto in the US. That's kind of a milestone.

Not really.

Attack on Titan just became big, in the same manner Naruto did back in 2005. The anime became a huge hit, and the manga sales followed.

Attack on titan volume 15 was released March 17
Naruto volume 69 was released March 3

So it's not surprising that vol 15 ranked higher in it's first week on the list, while it's the third week for Naruto's vol.69

This was the previous Naruto volume ranking on January:

It's amusing to see how different the top sellers are in USA vs Japan. Not just the titles, but completely opposite genres. The top 10 in Japan are much more likely to be set in the real world and devoid of magic/sci-fi elements, whereas the ones in America tend to fit American cliches about Japanese pop culture (about half shonen, and the other half various forms of harem series, and it's rare to see a high-seller that's set in the real world).

It backs up the idea that many Western ideas about Japanese culture are actually driven by what's popular in the west rather than what's actually popular in Japan. Monster Musume is Japanese, but it's a much bigger deal in the West than over there, it's certainly not hitting #3 in manga sales over there. The NY Times best seller list is chock full of mangas with some type of harem going on, yet harem mangas don't sell particularly well in Japan if you look at the charts.

But those are just weeklys and not an accurate comparison.

In 2014. Monster Museme highest selling volume was vol.2, which sold 9,759 units. Top sellers in 2014 and in order, are Attack on Titan, Naruto, Fairy Tail, BLUE EXORCIST, Black Butler, Sword art Online, Death Note Black E, POKEMON PKT COMICS BLACK & WHITE, Deadman Wonderland, Soul Eater, FMA,Sailor Moon, Monster Museme, etc

And most of these are also popular in Japan. Though yes, harem manga like Love Hina, and Monster Museme are relatively more popular in US.

This is just US, which doesn't represent the west, especially considering France is the second biggest market after Japan, and I heard that Germany might have a bigger market than US.

In France, the top most popular series, are also Shounen, Naruto, One Piece, Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail.

I'm kind of interested in the sales number for vol 1 of AoT now since it's always on the list.

Volume 1 sold 28,512 units on 2013.
It sold 54,520 units on 2014 (was the best sold manga volume in 2014 actually)
