It has been announced that Ouji Hiroi and Kosuke Fujishima (the creators of Sakura Taisen) have teamed up with the Taiwanese studio Next Media Animation to create a new anime series. Titled Karen Senki, the anime is set to debut in the United States first. The first two episodes of the anime will be screened at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2014 on September 27th, with Hiroi and Fujishima attending as guests of the event. The series will also begin streaming on Crunchyroll the same day.

Synopsis
Machines led by their machine leader, Seek who thinks they are better than humans and wants to build a new world order. The mechanical race comes together to lord over their creators. On the other side of this war, Karen leads the human resistance group, "11." Having lost her little sister Touka in the war against these evolving machines, Karen’s strong motivation to save humanity is personal and raging for victory. Slowly growing distant and detached to numb her grief, Karen wants to inflict the same pain onto the machines as they have done to her. Can machines feel pain like humans?

Set against the neon color futuristic yet chaotic post-apocalyptic background, this eclectic group of human beings find themselves fighting for their lives as they are hunted down in each episode. It becomes clear to them that their enemy will never have the heart it takes to lead Earth. Slowly, they too see Karen hardening and becoming the very enemy she despises. Seek and Karen may be fighting each other, but at the core they have become the same. Seek wants to be truly human and Karen to be human again. Both yearning for a soul—the ability to love and be loved.

It has an amazing story yet the CGI is horrible... If it had CGI like say Advent Children, or Kingdom Hearts 2 (animated cut-scenes) then it would be totally watchable~

I'm actually a fan of CGI, but not of this kind of CGI... I like the Space Captain Harlock / Appleseed Alpha kind of CGI :/

So, is this getting an actual MAL page, or what?

It has one. The last name is a bit off but you can still look it up via the "Add Anime and Manga" link on the home page.

I thought it wasn't like other anime that I've watched. That not bad though, and it looks like a game to me. I also don't like the synopsis.

There's a Titan!!

Wow, the cgi looked so horrible. Even a 10 year old cgi games look better. Plot sounds somewhat interesting, but I don't think I could handle such eye cancer for more than one episode...

CGI

Dropped before it even got off the ground. PVs don't mean shit, especially for something as corner-cutting as CGI.

The CGI looks decent enough. It's still nothing compared to Blizzard's videos, but I would like to see full CGI succeed in Japan.

It might be CGI but it's CGI that involves Kosuke Fujishima so I'm interested to see how it goes.
