OVA of Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun Announced

According to the official website, an OVA of Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun was announced to be released in the summer of 2013. It will be bundled with the 12th volume of the comic book.

I somehow love the characters in this OVA, which is set in imaginary Edo period (around 18th century). Basically all the less desirable traits of the characters, from Shizu, Haru to Natsu and Yamaguchi, are significantly reduced and even have some positive traits added. I didn't think it was airing at all. It is coming out with volume 12 of the manga. I'm sure someone will rip it and post it soon thereafter but unless someone is airing it as a special one off I don't think it will be on TV. Nico Nico Douga perhaps?

Volume 12 hasn't even gone up for sale yet. Sukitte Volume 11 with its OVA already has, comes July 24th.

It sold very poorly on disc and the manga ends this month so I really don't see any way we will get season 2. The anime lost money and there is no further need to promote the manga since it is ending. Sayonara Shizuku, Haru, Natsume, Sasayan, Yamaken, Nagoya... :'(

if u remember at the first episode the shizuku said i wanna tell about Her, Him, Him, Her, Him, and Him..
that's mean she wanna tell why she want to had be friends with Asako Natsume, Sasayan, Yamaguchi Kenji, Oshima, Nagoya, And Haru..

Yes, and the audio was already released on a Drama CD. Nothing new here unfortunately. It will be funny but that's it which is too bad as the romance does, as implied by the "volume 12 climax" thread, actually go somewhere at last.

Lots of great stuff happened since the anime ended and they only covered 4 books! A real shame that the last 8 books likely will remain books but the manga is quite good so if you were waiting to start reading the manga, the wait is over.

They just announced the Manga is ending in August and the OVA will be released then too.

So there goes your Season 2 guys, lets just hope we get a real ending in this OVA.

Yay! I was hoping for something more.

I was unsatisfied with the ending of the anime (I had to see what happened with Natsume and Mii-chan!), but I figured that it must be an adaptation of a manga and looked it up. In which case I am now all caught up in the English translation. The next chapter should come out in the next couple of days though, so there's that to look forward to.

Finally an romance/comedy anime I really got my attention after Kimi No Todoke. Really liked Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, the art,story,music everything was very nice! First of all actually finally an anime where couple confesses on the last ep, starts right from the first episode. Hope there will be an S2 after the ova!!!
