Funimation announced, in a streaming update, that it has acquired Aniplex's anime adaptation of Ryohgo Narita's light novel, Baccano!. The anime, set in early 1930s America, is collection of stories about immortal alchemists, mafia, reporters, and thieves.

The first episode, subbed in English, will be available online and can be viewed with the password "Flying Pussyfoot" (A train that is a key setting to one of the stories).

I hope Funimation gives it a great dub since it actually takes place in America it seems like an english dub would work well.
That's what I hope as well. Baccano! is an anime that should do better with an English Dub, because it's set in America. ^_^

although they'll never beat the voices for Isaac & Miria.
still that anime is pretty damn awesome, it would've only been a matter of time before it got licenced, even though theres quite some gore.

Nonsense. The JP voice work was top caliber. I can't imagine any other voice over matching it.

Good, very good!

I'll most definitely buy it when it gets cheap enough. And yes, I would actually be willing to try out a dub for once if they find good enough VAs.

AWESOME! Now I can watch it when it comes out! ^^

i hope this airs on the funimation channel :D
that way i can watch it without buying the DVD ^^

i'm really curious as to who the cast is~!

Nice! Like everyone else I'm hoping they do a good job and release it faster than they did with Ouran.
