man naruto is pretty popular in the US

This is probably largely due to the Ninja stereotype.

Naruto has been the most popular manga in the US since its release.

And I believe it only got even more popular the moment the anime adaptation of Naruto was aired on Toonami. It had to have garnered a huge fanbase just for that (not to mention Shippuuden is being aired now on Disney XD) In comparison, Bleach is on [adult swim], but perhaps there are less people (kids) who could stay up late enough (or even allowed to) watch on that channel. As for OP, the 4kids dub led to it eventually being taken by funimation, and then finally becoming taken off the channels, thus it led to a lot less exposure to the U.S., as opposed to the other two.

I just think Naruto's exposure on TV might have led to it becoming more popular here in the U.S. then it should have been.

I'd say Pokemon was the most popular anime in the US ever. I mean, remember how much of hit it was back in the day? The trading card game, the games, the tons and tons of related merchandise then the TV show and the movies. It was even on South Park! Pokemon rocked the nation in a way no other anime series ever has or likely ever will again.

I always knew that it had a sizable fanbase due to the demographic combination of the battle action fans and romantic comedy fans, but I didn't realize that Negima was this popular. It's a good thing in my opinion. I like Akamatsu's art and character development for this series.

Thats actually a really nice mix of stuff, not just the usual Jump stuff but a few surprises like Durarara! making the list is nice.

Guess the manga industry still has hope over here after all.

I don't bother with these NY/ North American best selling lists anymore. It just shows how the industry over here went to the raving fangirls. Seriously, a list with sailor moon, black butler, durarara, etc. Atleast on the japanese lists, you can see a series like Worst from time to time.

I like how you blame females for everything going to shit.

Have fun on your date with Rosie Palms tonight.

I was always more of a fan of Palmela Anderson. Quite the opposite really. Rather than blaming female fans, I blame the male north american anime fans. Clearly, their purchasing power has declined over the years. If anything a large amount of female fans and series that appeal to both male but especially female audiences, is what's keeping the industry in North america alive. With the closing of many anime and manga liscensing companies, in order to prevent a complete collapse, strong consistent buyers are needed. You have a similar thing going on in japan with merchandise otaku anime and high priced BD. Still that does not make me any bit more interested in the North American best selling lists. You'll just have to accept this as a difference of opinion. I find it strange that you of all people try to picture me as a misogynist(I'm more love and hate really). Especially when, Gayporn is best done without females.

Pretty much how I expected the list would look like. Yay for Pandora Hearts~

Sounds okay with me. Still don't get the deal with Naruto, but Durarara is something I'm really going to look into. Sailor Moon is still a top seller? I really. Ever liked that series. Oh well, just got to find the money to buy now. XD

Good for Highschool of the Dead and Negima.

High School of the Dead, Fairy Tail, and Pandora Hearts are what I'm enjoying the most right now. It's nice to see them on a best seller's list.

Meh. Nothing really interesting on that list.
