Synopsis

After dropping out of middle school following the spread of rumors that shattered his reputation and confidence, 16-year-old Hiroshi Endou has become a NEET. He spends his days wallowing in his bedroom until his mother pulls some strings to get him a job at his uncle's convenience store. Wanting to reclaim his life, Hiroshi accepts the position as a part-timer, but he soon finds that the job is more difficult than he initially believed.

In particular, one of his coworkers—Kouhei Yamai—is unreasonably mean and critical toward him. Despite his brutish demeanor, Yamai unknowingly reveals a soft spot to Hiroshi when he rescues a stray cat from being run over. Though he is hesitant to get closer to his coworker, Hiroshi cannot help but fall for him. Just as Yamai begins to warm up to him, Hiroshi's past resurfaces, threatening their delicate relationship.

Short and sweet, this manga tops my list of favorites. Although riddled with romantic clichés that hopeless-romantic readers can't seem to get enough of, these clichés are approached in an original way that toys with your emotions and keeps you reading start to finish.
It is rare that I find a story that makes me grin like an idiot, unable to control my outward emotions as I become absorbed in the lives of the characters, but this is surely one of those stories. Well, this manga certainly had potential, until the finale came.

We have a quite typical setting of “boy gets bullied because he’s gay”. With it we have bundled another quite typical “rough looking but actually caring” character archetype. We even get the cliché “delinquent-looking person picks up a kitten in rain” scene, but as the manga is self-aware about that and acknowledges that was corny, I’ll let that one pass.

I thought this was going to be a cute love story, but the lack of anything that would grab your attention completely ruined it for me.

Average. Nothing special. Very bland characterdesign. No remarkable backgrounds, clothes, expession, perspective, idk.

This anticlimatic, basic story was so boring.
