| AHA! So I FINALLY watched the first episode! And may I just say.... I FREAKIN LOVED IT! I must admit that i actually did get kinda creeped out. Which is strange for me cause I usually don't get creeped out easily. The whole murder incident was pretty creepy for me because a murder like that actually happened in my area. : S Well anyway... I love all their voices, especially Mion's, and all the characters seem really interesting. I'm looking forward to getting creeped out and scarred for life as other people say they have while watching this show. =P |

| I´m watching this in Engrisu, so I feel a bit disappointed. Don´t really know much about this show, though with the number of sequels and side stories I reckon it´s pretty good. From my first impression I kinda enjoyed it, although it was a dub, the calm (or shall I say "cuteness"?) before the storm left me wanting for more, will see if this lives up to my expectations and gives me a good suspense drama. |

| Dat beginning scene. I like the OP, the OST, and the ED. Keiichi Maebara, a guy who just moved to Hinamizawa, is classmates with Rena Ryuuguu, Mion Sonozaki, Satoko Houjou, and Rika Furude. According to a guy named Tomitake, there has been a murder that took place in the Hinamizawa dam. And this incident is somehow connected to Rena and Mion. So, Rena appears in the end wielding a cleaver of some sort. Run, Keiichi! |

| So much hate for this episode... I like Higurashi alot but i'll admit that this episode is terrible, it starts to get good from the second episode in my opinion, its just this episode that i don't like. |
| And so it begins. I've been putting this series on hold for a long time, but no more! I really like the OST (the OP is awesome). Also I think having a cute art style is a plus 'cause once the blood starts flowing it will be more shocking. Edit: After finishing both seasons I had to come here to add this bit. If you have even a slightest interest in this show, please do not drop it over some excuse like "I don't get any of it" (It's OK to be confused... In fact, you are supposed to be confused) or "the art is crap" (while this is kinda true, I would argue that it actually adds to the show's charm). Also this goes without saying... but please do not spoil yourself! The answers are coming, I promise :) |

| lol the anime is good in its own way, the problem is this being divided into arcs (each arc is a 4 episode from what i seen so far) i think they should have tried to work around with the whole arcs so we could continue to watch whole serie at same pace instead of confusing people every 4 episodes. Currently at ep10 so wont comment much more on this for now. |
| I really hate that art design. Their head look like baloon... Though, it was pretty interresting. The plot almost seem to advance too fast for a 26 episodes serie but we'll see. Anyway, those girl creep me out. They all look like heartless demon with their blank stare. |

| Not my usual kind of anime but eh, after many praises I'll bite. They fail to bring the slice of life of this episode, hence why it felt so flat. They need to step up the cute element and then BAM, horror strikes, something like that will be more interesting than simple SoL and even horror only story (I don't understand why some people just love mindless gory, if they just want to see dismembered body, why not google those images? Or better, watch a real incident). Well, it didn't wow me whatsoever. Though, it did wake up my curiosity. Due to which, I gave it 5/5... ^__^ I hope it gets much, much better... |

| This was quite good. I'm not a lover of this art and animation, but I think I'll get used to it. The characters are more likeable in their creepy way more than the cute ones.. By the way, in the middle of an enormous tip he makes 2 steps and miraculously he get the answers? Meh. |

| The creators of this anime are fucking geniuses. Add a bunch of moe girls to entice the viewer and completely forget this is a horror anime then scare the shit out of them. The first episode was meh...I would probably be dropping it pretty soon if it weren't for all the praise it got. |

If you read the whole thread, you will notice that this episode is only to deceive you. Rewatching this after some years ago, I didn't remember that the first episode was so goddamn non-sense. hahahaha |

| So the obvious intention of this episode was to lure us into a false sense of security, yet that was completely spoiled with the opening scene.. :/. Seems like a pretty big fail to me lol. Also that Rena chick is so goddamn annoying, I HATE her! I really hope she dies in some horribly gruesome way. Her voice and the way she acts is like nails on a chalk board for me, I cringe every time shes on screen. The rest of the characters are pretty meh so far. Overall it was a pretty mediocre first episode. |

| Just started on this anime today, first episode is so damn different from the rest (so far). But I kinda like it starting of slow and easy...well sorta...rather than jumping into killing of characters left and right immediately. |

| Heh, the episode gradually got better and more engaging. Gotta say those cicada voices felt creepy which works fine for the tone of this anime. |
