THERE IS NO DEATH NOTE WITHOUT L!!

I legitimately hate Light. I know of so many people who adore the guy, but I can't stand him. Ever since he killed Ray Penbar (and how he got him to kill his coworkers) I thought he was a douche. And then when he killed Penbar's wife I wanted to bitch slap him. He's such a heartless little dick, for lack of a better word. Who said he should be the one to pass judgement on people? Get off your high horse and just die. Stop using everyone around you to your personal gain. And balls, the 'new world' that you're trying to create with only kind hearted people is so flawed. You can't even make it into your perfect world because you are the worst of the worst.

c: anyway, L - ya shall be missed.

and LOL @ the foot scene ;) did look incredibly gay even if it was a ref. to the bible.

So L submitted to Light being the so called 'God'. He knew he had Kira by his side but found it hard to stay one or two step ahead of him towards the end of his short lifespan. Could watari be his grandfather or something?? From the start of the episode we see L in front of a house, which could have been his.

Light really pisses me off to no end. Half the time i feel like dropping this series but end up watching anyways because of Light.

L was raised in an orphanage, that 'house' was called Wammy's House and was where L was raised as a child. L knew he was going to die and there was nothing he could do about it which is why he did something so pathetic as washing Light's feet. It was his was of paying homage to Kira.

Bravo, Kira, you win, you're going to kill me and there is nothing I can do about it.

I think L for sure saw what was going to happen though. Remember when he said "We'll be parting ways soon." My theory is that he knew exactly how light was going to kill him, but he couldn't find a way to stop him.

The whole bit about L referencing the ringing bells was pretty creepy, that he could sense his death.

ok, so everyone, there is alot of symbolism in the Death Note episode 25"silence". The first one i will talk about is L's saying, "the bells are ringing." this refers to when L was a little kid. he was in a church by himself and was crying, (i personally think that his parents died, which makes him drawn to murder cases) so with that him saying that means that he knows that he's going to die.

the second one im going to talk about is L washing Lights feet. many people are repealed and even disgusted at this scene. But the scene isn't that weird when u get it. Basically it revers to the bible, when Jesus washes the feet of his guests, showing humility. that is what L did, showed humility, and integrity.

The third one has to do with what L said while he was washing Lights feet," Its sad, we'll be parting soon" this says that he knew that he was going to die and accepted it. But again he showed that he cared about his first and best friend.

there are many other "symbols" throughout the death note series. i think these are the most important. L died confirming that Light was Kira and he was killed by his best friend :(
He died at the age of 25, on November 5th, 2007. just 5 days after his birthday on October 31.
Honestly im sad that he died and i know that he didnt die in vein.

This is L,

This is the episode the anime should ended with..
It could have different ending with Kira's death instead of L's, but it's not an option...

The main thing is that it is definitely final episode on the story..

The rest 12 are artificial bullshit :|

How sad...
I was about to give Death Note 10 point, but with such a dumb "second part" all I can give is 7 :(

God damn it. I hate Light so much right now... Why did he have to kill L?! L was seriously one of the most original characters I've ever come across. Damn Light and his God-complex and horrible morality.

You know, I really think by this episode the point that Light is a true sociopath can be established as fact. He's... So. Ridiculously. Creepy.

Ugh.

I'm going to take a hiatus from this anime; it's stressing me out.

Even before, L knew that somehow he was going to die one way or the other since pursuing Kira brings only danger and death... but this time he's certain that the end of him is very near and is inevitable and he has accepted that fact (hence the reminiscing bit of the past and blah blah).. but it still proves that in the end he knew all along that Light was indeed Kira but was only powerless to convict him because of the lack of evidence and he can no longer pursue the case further since he knows he doesn't have much time left and whatnot
.. and duh he was up against bloody shinigamis and death notes after all xD

still L is hardcore, for me he's the only one that makes this whole series interesting!
looking forward to the awaited appearances of both his successors though even if they're not as good as him.. heh

I literally cried when Watari and L went. Light, if I ever get a Death Note, you're name will be in it. I just hate Light even more now. I don't even want to watch the series anymore, but I must carry on........

L is so majestic. He took defeat so graciously, and loved his enemies to the end. Like The Last Dinner.......My word. Best and worst episode.

I'm thinking it relates to the whole 'god' complex Light has. Think of the story of Jesus washing the disciples feet for them.

I knew it was like this from the start(unlike these pro-yaoi comments here). I really felt that L will die - he knew it at this point too, but it really was heartbreaking when it happened. And not just L - Watari died too. I hoped that Watari will be in great help for L's successor, but I guess that nothing goes like I'm expecting at this point... L revealed parts of himself just before his very end. Really sad episode.

Anyway, the singing Misa was... yeah, she was creepy.

I don't get it why she dressed up all in black and started singing all of sudden, but other than that this episode was excpetional. Now i wonder where the story is headed now since L, the guy who made the past episodes so great, is now dead.

Lemme guess, relating it to Roketsu's post about Jesus washing feet, and relating this episode to religion, maybe her wearing black has to do with black friday (was it black friday? i can't remember the name, but i'm referring to the part where theists do stuff when Jesus supposedly died), but then it could have been just random stuff to add to the weirdness of this episode and the impact of L's Death

When Watari's heart attack set in, I gripped my pillow, knowing that Rem had done it and that he was going to die. It took Rem fading into the darkness and everyone frantically wondering where the flying expletive she'd gone. I figured it out and when L fell out of his chair... I screamed, almost swore, and threw my empty styrofoam cup across the living room. Oh, and I almost cried.

D*MN YOU, YAGAMI LIGHT!!!

It is such a shame that Rem did not write the name of all the other policemen characters in that book.

The death scene was handled beautifully. Instead of the following the manga where L just said his last words, the anime's portrayal of the two of them just looking each other in the eye, silently, while Light's look of concern slowly transforms to an evil grin was far more powerful. Brilliant.

Did L really die? I kind of have my doubts. In any case, gripping chapter. L and Light kind of deserved each other as intellectual equals.

Epic episode. Everything that was added into this episode not in manga was really cool. Random foot massage, but oh well.

So.....now the L Arc is over. Compared to the manga, it seems like there should be more episodes left to cover all of the N Arc. Oh well, can't wait to get it started.

Oh man, really sad the L died without saying anything really special. Since I was spoilered to when L dies, all I had to do was imagining the way he dies.

When a shinigami dies, the remaining life time goes back to the person he saved, right? Well, then Misa has more life time once again. Since I don't dislike her, it's good to see that.

And well, Kira is back.
