| The best bit was where the cat just suddenly bit Sakaki :) It's hilariously random, especially the buckets and the tsukomi bit where all tomo wants her to say is "Nan de ya nen?" XD |

| Good start to the episode with Yukari flipping out over her broken bike and good end with poor Ayuma getting nicknamed after her hometown. Seems like a fairly solid cast of characters - had me chuckling at quite a few parts. Hopefully the rest of the series keeps me entertained. |
| i liked this episode. its a great way to start the anime. this has been the only anime in a while that has made me laugh alot in a single episode. hope the quality of the humor doesn't drop. rather, im anticipating it will increase. |

| This was painful to watch, probably worst anime I have ever seen. Anyone who likes anime which has 'witty' jokes, is not repetitive and hate characters with voices so annoying you ears bleed... Do not watch this. take my advice and drop it like a sack of $4!I I could seriously only picture a 5 year old watching this and finding it enjoyable. It was worse than that sad fanservice excuse for an anime Rosario+Vampire. |
| ^Well said! I thought it was pretty good. There were a lot of funny moments like the cat biting her hand twice and the teacher at the beginning of the episode. I love Tomo already, she's so energetic and funny. ^^ |

| Not one of the very best, but it got me into the series. Opening song: well that was what made me want to watch the anime. There's some better ones but it's still quite catchy. Ending song: one of the best anime songs I've listened so far. I love its slow pacing. When I first watched the episode, this was something completely new for me in a comedy, and this blend of wacky fun and relaxing tone won me in two seconds. Best part? Definitely, Yukari-sensei's bike rant! This episode was also essential to my solid impression of Tomo. As many people -even Azu fans- hate her, she got me in her very first scene. Osaka still had to be developed... I got lost in translation at the tsukkomi jokes at the time. And I actually laughed at Chiyo's cooking song! So random cuteness... Definitely something worth watching. 9/10 |

| Aha! I caught a dubbed version of this episode and really liked it. Since then I've been meaning to grab a subbed version to watch the whole series and I've just got it! Re-watched then first episode (in subs) and I much prefer it! I've never read the manga, but I know it's the same manga-ka who does Yotsuba& and I think that is amazing so I figured I'd probably like this. It does not disappoint! |

| well this is very different from the anime I usually watch PS. Yukari's dub voice immediately reminded me of the dub voice of Misato Katsuragi from Neon genesis evangelion and weird, both characters have pretty similar personalities X) |

| Love the first volume of the manga but the anime is unbearable. The voices and gestures are so sickeningly cutesy I had to stop. If the original is this bad, I cannot imagine what the dub is like. |

| So far of i watched Lucky Star, A-Channel and now Azumanga Daioh (where it all began apparently) - Lucky Star is my favorite of the three but that may change. I will say that both the OP and ED are incredibly bland. The artstyle and color scheme is also a bit dull, but that may be due to it being 10 years old at this point. |
