New Series of Manga Great Teacher Onizuka Announced

According to Weekly Shonen Magazine, Fujisawa Tohru will start a new series of manga "Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)" from issue 28. The title is "GTO Shonan 14 Days" and the story takes place in Shonan bay area.

Update

According to Mainichi Online, the new series is not a sequel, but a new episode within the previous series.

This is awesome news. I always figured there was a chance Onizuka would be back, and now he is. Pretty much every chapter of GTO made me laugh, so hopefully the new series will have the same consistently high level of comedy.

Finally, someone makes a worthwhile contribution to the thread. Honestly, some of us actually care about STORY above everything else. GTO ended well, so the author better have a damn good story to continue the character of Onizuka otherwise its just going to be rehashed shit which isnt funny.

Any ideas for possible storylines?

Yeah, but the whole comedy in GTO is the fact that he's a virgin. Take that away and he has -nothing-.
