They're incorporating new episodes into the first season so that it follows the books chronologically. That's why the Mikuru movie wasn't the first episode this time. It follows the unconventional and "out-of-nowhere" approach to the first season, and really if you think about it, nothing Kadokawa has done is trolling. Everyone just decided they wanted to jump the gun (myself included) everytime new information came out. Really what they were doing was building hype. The first announcement two years ago, the announcement of the webisodes, the re-run announcement, and now "oh hey look new episodes so the two seasons will mesh together." Really, guys, stop getting your panties in a wad just because Kadokawa decided to be clever. |
