| Wow, if I had to think of the lamest backstory for Takamura, this would be it. I was blindsided by the derivative nature of his motivation. It's so thoughtlessly bad. That said, this wasn't a bad episode. Aoki as Ippo was funny, so there's that. But then the music at the very end was terrible, so this was just a weird mix of good and bad elements. |

| Okay at this point it's now clear that from here on this season is going to be all about Takamura and Ippo is going to be pushed aside. Now I do wish to see more of Ippo's story sometime but I am actually quite glad that we're seeing Takamura in the spotlight. I was so disappointed that we didn't get more of him in season 1 so this is a real plus for me. Now on to the actual episode. As expected Hawk is going to prove to be quite the challenging opponent...and guess what, his fighting style is like Takamura's! Go figure! Actually that's kind of what I expected so I'm not very surprised. It was interesting making all of those comparisons between the two though. I mean I know that Hawk's even more of a sleazeball than anyone but you've gotta admit that their attitudes have some similarities. But the biggest part of the episode was finding out about Takamura's family and past. It was very nice to get more of a backstory, but I would've never imagined that he had so many siblings! And then his family actually runs a big business, and his older brother was a famous Rugby player (and he's also a dick). Speaking of which it was so funny how Takamura told his family all of that stuff about Aoki, and then Aoki starts posing and Ippo! :smileyvery-happy: When Ippo exposed Aoki, it was just hilarious! But about Takamura, I think it was just too mean for his family to abandon him like that. Even if he was a delinquent that's just to cruel. I'm really glad that Takamura doesn't plan on going back to them either, at least his sister and younger brother support him though. This was a good episode and I was glad to find out about Takamura some more. It looks like the next episode will focus on Takamura's weight control, which may be quite fun to watch. 4/5 |

| Wow, to be honest, this was not what I was expecting. I really did not expect Takamura to have that kind of background. Totally out of the blue. A nice surprise though, to see where his roots were and why he started to be a delinquent. Still cannot wait for his title match. Going to be awesome. |

Wow! I was actually shocked that Takamura had a family. We've been following him for so long that I just didn't even think about that sort of thing anymore. That said, at the very least his brother and dad are sh*t. I wouldn't want any part of them after pulling myself up this far on my own. I just didn't know how Takamura could stand there and not punch his brother. |

| It was great to know more about Takamura.. didn't expect he would have siblings or even a rich family background haha His sister is definitely hot! Loved the conversation with Aoki trying to hide his identity! XD It looks like Takamura isn't just fighting for his pride or himself.. but for his "life".. I really hope he wins the championship! |

| I never would've thought that Takamura had siblings, he really does have a secret life, but they don't really look like him though in my opinion. But it was interesting to learn more about Takamura's life, and it was funny when Aoki pretended that he was Ippo xD |

| this episode went too much expected lol - kimura and guys are talking about "wondering how takamura got into boxing", what's next? takamura's background story. at least it was kinda interesting, didn't expected from takamura though. i laughed too hard when aoki said he's ippo xDD but isn't supposed to be a match of ippo too before takamura's? i love takamura and all, but ippo had only one match 'till now, i want more of him >< |
