| Kinda liked this chapter for a change, mainly for Erina's actions, Danny's background (as far as I recall, David Pro removed this in their adaption, that was a mistake) & the fight between Jonathan & Dio at least is nicely choreographed. |

| That was very badass of Erina to go so far as to wash her lips with muddy gutter water to negate her first kiss with the scummy Dio. It could've been better if Jonathan was there to restore her pride right then and there but the beatdown he's giving Dio right after he found out was avenging enough! He basically got the first Ora Ora Rush in the whole franchise ♡ Danny turned out to be a way better dog than I remembered. It'll only make things harder for Jonathan when Dio figures out how to mix the putting out small fires with his body and best friends with Jojo together... |

| Erina showed she can fight back too, even if passively!!! She washed out Dio’s kiss with that dirty water without fear just like Jonathan took out his handkerchief in front of the bullies. But, this triggered some serious anger in Dio to be disrespected like that, he hit her! “How dare she, a mere woman!”. I think Dio is prideful, I see his line about hating vermin who don’t know their place as maybe indicative of it. He’s cold, calculated, without empathy, and a complete sociopath able to do whatever he needs to get his self interested goals done. But he goes overboard, he was relishing in the feeling of power as he was initially beating Jojo, he loved the feeling of beating on someone, or maybe just Jojo. I find Dio quite interesting because he has only been cruel to those in his way or those connected to Jonathan but he totally loves being so sadistic. I suppose we haven’t seen him interact with many people though, he wants to keep in good graces with Jonathan’s father and he wants to keep his goons as his minions so it’s good for him not to be cruel to them. I would just expect him to be more of a bully honestly! Yet, perhaps his sadism comes from proving he's better than other people rather than inflicting pain, in that case only people in his way or people he wants to be better than matter, and Jonathan is the polar opposite of Dio, rich and spoiled compared to poor and hardened so maybe by beating on Jonathan he's finding his own value. But Erina being hurt by Dio was the last straw, Jonathan won’t sit by and take it anymore!! He headbutts Dio and gives him a fast barrage of blows. It was about the first time we’ve seen Jonathan kick some major ass and it felt good! He’s no longer going to let Dio pick on him and the people he loves.. But, with Danny being shown as Jonathan’s true friend and Dio’s goal as strip everything away from Jojo and make him die with nothing, he’s definitely the next target. I think Jonathan’s father was proud of his bond with Danny as he was speaking about the two of them. In Jonathan teaching Danny everything and bonding with him and in how Danny respects human life! Jonathan will fight for innocents and not back down, Erina will fight back against bad odds, and Danny will protect a child who was throwing rocks at him.. They are all quite strong in their own way. |
